Principal Message
Dear Families,
It has come to our attention that a current trend has emerged on the social media platform TikTok, calling for students to vandalize schools and/or steal school property, then promote the acts under the tag, "Devious Licks."
Unfortunately, schools across FCPS are being impacted, including here at Keene Mill. Some examples of these destructive acts include vandalism to soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers in student bathrooms. I ask you to talk to your student at home and reinforce the message that this is inappropriate behavior with serious consequences. I appreciate your support, and I believe that our school community can stop these destructive and troubling actions by working together. Students who vandalize school property are violating the FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities and will face disciplinary action.
COVID Notifications
We wanted to make you aware of a change in FCPS’ COVID notification. If we have a positive COVID case at Keene Mill ES, we will notify the community on Fridays via email through the eNotify system. We will continue to contact families directly if their child has been identified as a potential close contact to a positive COVID case.
Screen for Illness Every Day, Stay Home When Sick
As a reminder, any student who is ill or has COVID-like symptoms should remain at home. The daily health screening questionnaire and all translated versions can be found on our Health and Safety Guidance webpage. Daily completion of the health screening is done on an honor basis and does not need to be sent to the school.
If your child has tested positive for Covid-19, please inform the child's teacher and call the attendance line.
International Walk to School Day
Wednesday, October 6
Keene Mill Elementary will participate in the International Walk to School Day event on Wednesday, October 6, 2021! Join children and adults around the world to enjoy the benefits of walking and bicycling.
FCPS Cares
The FCPS Cares Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story so we can acknowledge our Keene Mill staff members.
Keene Mill Ledo's Night
