OHES Parent Information Meeting (For AAP information)
A parent information meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, September 30th at 9:30AM and again at 6:00PM. Jennifer Weis, our AART will provide information about levels of service and examples at Orange Hunt, explain the screening processes, and answer questions about part-time school-based and full-time Level IV services. Picture Day
Friday, October 15, 2021 is Picture Day at Orange Hunt. You will be receiving your flyer in your child’s Tuesday folder next week. You may place your picture orders online or use the paper form and return the form with your child on picture day. The instructions are in the flyer.

We Need Your Consent for Select Digital Resources
At Orange Hunt Elementary School, our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent here: https://orangehuntes.fcps.edu/adopteddigitalresources. Additionally, you can find more information about approved digital resources in FCPS here: https://www.fcps.edu/resources/technology/digital-resources.
Included on this page is also a link to a form where the enrolling parent or guardian will need to indicate whether or not their student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval and why we must request your consent before using certain tools. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible, as your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions or concerns about the digital resources we’ve chosen to use this year.

Due to the large volume of people at arrival and dismissal, we ask everyone to please wear a mask. We encourage all adults and students to help each other and not remove your mask until you are in your car or away from the crowd. Thank you in advance for your help and support!

Family Liaison
We are looking for a Family Liaison to help us support and build relationships with and among Orange Hunt families, staff members, and community members. In this part-time paid position, you will:
- facilitate communication and provide FCPS information and resources to families;
- encourage family engagement in students’ education and connect families to what their children are learning;
- promote understanding of families' cultural diversity;
- provide information about and connect families to human services; and
- ensure families feel welcome, trusted, and valued at the school.
Hours are flexible; some evening work to attend programs and events may be required. Hourly pay depends on experience.

The School Based Technology Specialists of the West Springfield Pyramid have made this video to help parents with the basics of our new Learning Management System Schoology. Making sure you have an active parent account will help you in supporting your child’s learning as well as get communication from your child’s teacher and the school.

New Military Families
Blue Star Families is hosting a Welcome Week Family Day at the Military Women's Memorial on Memorial Avenue and Schley Drive in Arlington this Sunday, September 26th from 1-4pm. This event is to help support families who are new to the DC area (within one year) and will have fun activities, refreshments, and free gifts for the first 150 attendees.
