Cooper Directory Update
Cooper Middle School is moving the school Directory to AtoZConnect. In support of this effort, we need all parents to update their contact information. In the next week or so, you will receive an email invitation from AtoZ Connect. In order to update your information, you will first need to create a log-in on the AtoZConnect site (the site will be included in the invitation). We appreciate everyone taking the time to do this as quickly as possible so that we have accurate information. Please contact Alex Fouts at and Dan Tasber at directory@cooperpto.org if you have any questions.
Join the PTO
We would also like to welcome all new families as well as those of you who are returning to Cooper this year. The PTO is looking forward to another great year of working with parents and the school to support educational and extra-curricular programming as well as teacher and parent resources.
To provide the most robust support, however, we need YOU. Please consider joining the PTO if you haven’t already: $25/family, plus a suggested $125 donation per student – these funds go a long way.
You can join and donate ONLINE here or fill out the orange Membership form in your back to school mailing.
By joining and donating to the PTO, you are showing your support for students, teachers, staff and our community as a whole. Your membership fees and donations directly support student programming, curriculum enhancement, facility upgrades, staff morale/appreciation and more! We are hoping to have your support!

Back to School Anxiety
The return to school is often accompanied by a myriad of emotions…excitement, nervousness, anxiety, you name it! And certainly, this year is no exception.
Recognizing that we all may be a little more anxious than usual, the Safe Community Coalition (SCC) is proud to offer an online panel discussion moderated by Dr. Melissa Sporn and featuring local mental health professionals Jennifer Weaver, Mimi Weisberg, and Robyne Davis on Tuesday, September 21 at 7 p.m. The panel will discuss Back to School Anxiety and offer concrete ways you can help get the school year off to a great start. The link to the FREE webinar can be found on the SCC website at http://mcleanscc.org/.
