Coates Families,
As always, we have some important announcements. The most important is our farewell and congratulations to an awesome staff member. Mrs. Ashya Otero, office assistant, will have her final day at Coates tomorrow. Next week, she begins her new position as student information assistant at Daniel's Run ES. We congratulate her on her promotion, but we are very sad to say goodbye. Many of you have been helped by Mrs. Otero over the last 11 years. She started as an instructional assistant in our autism program before moving to the front office, and she's added value to every team she's been on. Congratulations, Mrs. Otero!
We thank you for taking care of your child's FCPS laptop at home each night. Charging it at home ensures that it's ready to go for the next school day!
On Thursday, Sept. 23 your child's teacher will be sending you an interim progress report for the first quarter of school. Interims are not the official progress reports with quarterly grades. They are actually a mid-point message that serves to let parents know who things are going so far. If your child is needing improvement in a subject, there is still time to address the needs. Look for interims via email, Talking Points, or Thursday Folders. Feel free to ask your teachers questions so that you can help at home.
If you have not already done so, please complete this digital resources parental consent form (link). This allows us to use school-approved websites, programs, and tech equipment with your child at school. If you do not complete this form, your child will lose access.
