As part of their unit on the earth's layers, students use graham crackers and shaving cream to experience the moving of the earth's tectonic plates. This hands-on approach helps students understand complex ideas.

This year, there is a new option for families to sign the form in their ParentVUE account.

PTA News

PTA

It’s a new year and we have a whole new board!  We’re very excited about the year ahead.  A little about us, we’re all Weyanoke parents.

President, Julie Grandon Krainik, mom of two, in 2nd and Kindergarten.

Vice President, Jennifer McCreery, mom of three, two at WES, in 1st and 3rd. Treasurer, Tyree Cook, father of four, three at WES, in pre-k, 2nd and 3rd. Secretary (temporary), Juanita Manley, mom of five, three at WES, in 1st, 3rd & 4th.

The PTA Board has discussed their hopes for the school year and want to make communication to parents a major priority. We see our job as working in concert with the school to make sure every student has the very best opportunities with no barriers to participating. We have a lot of great things planned and would love to hear from anyone interested in volunteering some time.

Currently we are looking for a new Secretary and volunteers for the Reflections contest. Our first PTA meeting will be at Weyanoke on Sept 23rd at 7pm.
