Students have received a Red Folder (7th Grade) or Black Folder (8th Grade) containing start of year forms. Please be sure to review all contents of the folder and have student return them to either 4th period teacher or main office.
Emergency Care Information/ Health Form
Over the summer families received a mailing containing student bus info, student schedule, emergency care and health form. Please be sure to review emergency care information and Health form then return to HMS with signature (even if the information is all correct, form must still be turned in).If you returned your form unsigned it will be sent home with your child on Thursday, Sept. 9.

 All parents/guardians are invited to attend Back to School Night (BTSN) on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 pm. On Monday, September 13th students will bring home a copy of their schedule organizer for parents to follow during BTSN. Schedules are also on Parent Vue. If you do not receive your student’s schedule, please go to entrance 2 near the auditorium on the evening of Tuesday, September 14, for a printed copy. All parents should be in their student’s first-period class at 6:00 pm. Students are welcome to attend BTSN as interpreters for their parents if necessary.
We also encourage parents to attend our pre-BTSN activities from 5:00-6:00 pm. We will offer a resource fair in the cafeteria at 5:00 pm. During this time, parents will have the opportunity to sign up for a SIS Parent Account, get information regarding school and community resources, and buy Herndon spirit gear from the PTA. Also beginning at 5:00 pm, AVID students and families may visit room 130 for the AVID contract signing and photo drop in event. At 5:30 pm, we will offer an ESOL information session in H1/H2, and a Special Education parent information session in the library.
This year, the virtual option for families who cannot attend our Back to School night may be accessed through your schoology account. Teacher back to school night asynchronous presentations will be available on Schoology on September 14th.

At Herndon Middle School, our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your student may use this year will require your consent. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent here.
Here is the link to a form where you need to indicate whether or not your student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible, as your student will not be able to use the digital resources starting October 1 if we have not received permission. If you have multiple children at Herndon Middle School, the form will need to be filled out individually for each child.
