Volume 5, Issue 2; September 6, 2021
 Dear Flint Hill Family,
We are approximately one week away from our Portrait of a Flint Hill Graduate Night--our Back to School Night! We want to apprise you of important information regarding our format. Please read below to take note of your child's grade level sessions.
Grades K-2 (**New Time: 5:00-6:10 pm)
Grades 3-6 (**New Time: 6:15-7:25 pm)
These sessions are fully-virtual and will be recorded for those who are unable to attend. We will post these presentations on our website. The latter 10 minutes will be spent addressing your real-time questions that associate with your child's grade level. There will be a Parking Lot, at the very end, to send questions to FHES administration. Please check your email, thirty minutes prior, for the link.
We hope that many more families will be able to attend virtually, and by hosting our night in this manner, we know we are doing our very best to keep our families safe and healthy.
In the meantime, enjoy the remainder of your Labor Day Weekend!
Warmly,
Dr. Jennifer Hertzberg, Principal
Mr. Ross Baker, Assistant Principal
Cafeteria Updates
As soon as additional PPE arrives for use in our kindergarten classrooms, we will be modifying our cafeteria seating arrangement.
Our aim is to allow for students, in grade levels 1-6, to only eat with students in their grade level, and to sit at tables at least 3 feet apart from the next student. To accommodate this need, and to make room in our very tight master schedule, our kindergarten team has graciously agreed to have students eat in their classroom--thus fully cohorting students. This is an additional prevention measure as students will not be exposed, while unmasked, to students in other classrooms.
Kindergarten students will use PPE, just like in the photo, during lunchtime. We will transport hot and cold lunches to the classroom using cafeteria and school staff, and we will have staff in each classroom to provide oversight. Students with allergies will have their needs attended to, and our custodial and monitor staff will support with cleaning the classrooms before students transition. We will inform you when this new safety measure begins.

Transportation Requests
At this time, children are unable to go home with friends on different buses. Transportation is taxed with a shortage of bus drivers, as well as with new COVID protocols. Due to contact tracing and other factors, we appreciate your understanding. Thank you for considering other transportation alternatives when scheduling playdates after school.
