BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT

Wednesday, September 8, 2021

  • Some grade levels will be live on Zoom.

  • Some grade levels will be pre-recorded.*

  • All Back-to-School Night (BTSN) grade level details will be 

    • Posted to school website and sent out to families on Wednesday, September 8th via e-Notify or News You Choose (NYC).

    • Sent out by each teacher to their individual classes, including the links and information about accessing your events on Wednesday, September 8th.

  • All BTSN sessions will be recorded and put on the school website for you to view at your convenience.

*If your child’s teacher provides a pre-recorded BTSN event, they will also hold Virtual Office Hours during the week of September 20th.

Covid 19 Symptoms

This is just a gentle reminder that there are stringent protocols in place for “COVID-19 like” symptoms in school.  We need you to practice vigilance this year so that we can ensure our students and staff are safe. 

If your child is experiencing any of these in the morning before school, please keep them at home.  Otherwise, they will be sent to the Cares Room and sent home until they are evaluated.

  • Fever greater than 100.4
  • A new cough (not due to another health condition)
  • Headache (not due to another health condition, hunger, thirst, stress or injury)
  • A new sore throat (not related to another health condition)
  • Abdominal Pain (unrelated to hunger, constipation, injury or stress)
  • Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea (not associated with a chronic gastrointestinal condition)
  • Runny nose/Congestion (unrelated to allergies or another health condition)
  • New loss of taste, smell or appetite
  • Fatigue (more than normal or sudden onset)
  • New muscle pain (unrelated to a health condition or P.E./Recess)

If your child has seasonal allergies or a health condition, please share with your child's teacher or Mr. James (Chrisman) in the Main Office.  We do not currently have a School Health Aide (SHA) but the teacher and the Main Office can provide consistency knowing your child's condition. 

Picture Day--September 23, 2021

Barksdale will be at Aldrin on Thursday, September 23, 2021 for Fall Picture Day.

An order flier was sent home in the Thursday Recorder of  September 2nd.  A separate electronic photo flier will be sent to you next week.  

If you'd like to order photos, please return your flier no later than September 23rd.  There are opportunities to pay on-line using a credit card.  Please read the flier carefully. 

All students will have their photos taken for the yearbook, even if you don't care to make a purchase.
