Volunteering Opportunity for Students
GIVE Tutoring is a student run non-profit organization that provides free tutoring for elementary school students. Students are tutored by high school volunteers on the weekends during the school year. We have 20+ locations in the Northern Virginia area, including one at Burke Centre Library. Last year we had conducted tutoring virtually and now are proceeding with in-person sessions with COVID-19 precautions in place which includes: requiring masks regardless of vaccination status, socially distancing, sanitization, and monitoring of all students and tutors in addition to any future recommendations from the CDC. We would like to extend the opportunity to students at Robinson Secondary School as a way of giving back to the community and earning volunteer hours as well. Students may apply to tutor at this link and more information is available on our website (giveyouth.org) in addition to the attached flyer. Currently a date has not been yet finalized for the fall session however, any finalized information will be sent out to tutors and students. Contact person: Hana Choi, Center Manager for GIVE Youth Burke Centre, burke.centre@giveyouth.org
