What a great first week!  Student Services is excited to support all our Wolverines this school year.  As a reminder the alphabet is posted on our website along with all our emails.

A reminder to follow @WPHSSS for the latest news and updates related to WPHS Student Services

Appointments/Communication

  • Although all counselors and student services professionals will work to meet with parents and students on a drop-in basis, this sometimes is not possible due to prior commitments. To ensure that your needs are met in the best fashion, an appointment is encouraged. Students make appointments by emailing their counselor or by signing in on the counselor’s door sign-in sheet. Parents/guardians make appointments by calling the counselor’s direct phone line or through email. Parents who wish to speak with a specific teacher should contact the teacher directly.
  • For concerns about a specific course, such as questions about grading or information about homework, the course teacher should be the first contact. For assistance with other concerns related to school performance or the well-being of a student, consultation with a school counselor is appropriate and encouraged.

Schedules - Elective Change Window

  • As we enter the second week of school, School Counselors are working to ensure that each student has a complete schedule with the appropriate courses.  If for any reason, a student’s schedule is missing a course, a graduation requirement or they are enrolled in a course they already completed, the student needs to come to Student Services during the class period that is impacted to fix their schedule.
  • The second week of school also begins the Elective Change Window. Only lateral changes (electives within the same period), that are not at capacity will be considered.  Core (non-elective) AP/HNs drops are unavailable until Monday, October 4, 2021.  At that time, the Advanced Academics Schedule Change Packet will be available and those requests will be reviewed and considered on a space availability basis.
  • Students who wish to explore dropping an elective during the elective change window should see their counselor during the period of the elective they are looking to drop. After reporting to class and being marked present for attendance, they can ask their teacher for a pass to see their counselor to explore another elective.
