Dear Poplar Tree Families,

It was exciting to welcome our students back into the building this week! It was wonderful to see our students engaged in learning activities with peers and enjoying time with friends.Ā Ā We appreciated everyone's patience with transportation. The staff in our transportation office is working hard and we saw an improvement each day.Ā

We also want to thank you for our continued partnership in keeping everyone safe and healthy. It takes us doing our part at school and for you to do your part at home. Please keep your children home when sick, and keep us informed about illness in your home. We have a shared goal - keeping our students in school and keeping everyone healthy!Ā

Have a wonderful weekend!

Advanced Academics Information

Please join us for a virtual question and answer session on Tuesday, September 14, from 6:30-7:00. We will be answering questions about the Elementary Continuum in regards to Advanced Academics.

The week prior to the Q&A session, we will send a presentation explaining the continuum of services. We will also include the virtual link for the meeting.

We will be holding an additional meeting to be scheduled in October. At the second meeting we will focus on Level 4 referrals. A link for the session will be sent at a later date.

parental consent

At Poplar Tree, we use a variety of digital tools to support meaningful student learning. Some of these tools require parental consent before they can be used.

ā¤ļø63% of our school population has already provided consent - THANK YOU! We really wantĀ  consent from 100% of our Poplar Tree families!Ā šŸ’»

You can find our schoolā€™s list of the resources that require parental consent here:Ā https://poplartreees.fcps.edu/adopteddigitalresources.Ā After reviewing these resources, please complete šŸ”—Ā this formĀ šŸ”— to indicate whether or not your student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. Your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission, so the sooner we can get the permission the better!

Please reach out to our School Based Technology Specialist, Leslie Leisey (lfleisey@fcps.edu) or your child's teacher you have questions or concerns. THANK YOU!!!

Little Free Library

Ā

Little Free Library

The Poplar Tree Student Council Association (SCA) is thrilled to announce that our Little Free Library is now open for use! It is conveniently located in front of Poplar Tree in the bus loop. Using SCA funds raised over the years, we were able to create this library for the Poplar Tree community to enjoy and we are so excited to see it get used. Come by and peruse the titles and take a book to read or feel free to donate a book for others to enjoy. A special shout out and thank you to the Ngo family for building the structure and to the SCA representatives and officers who helped to paint it. Weā€™d also like to recognize Ms. Short, our finance tech, for all she did to help coordinate the installation process. The library contains books that will interest all elementary ages. Itā€™s pretty packed right now, but as you see it start to empty out, we would welcome donated books. We hope this addition to our Poplar Tree community will be used and loved by many for years to come!
