Important Information

FCPS and Forestville Elementary are excited to welcome students and staff back in-person 5 days a week for the 2021-2022 school year.

  • Forestville Bell Schedule: 9:15 a.m. -4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday (Doors and Kiss and Ride will open at 8:50 a.m.)
  • Breakfast and Lunch: When we return strong this fall, FCPS’ Food and Nutrition Services staff will be ready to serve healthy meals to students and staff. This year, all students receive FREE breakfast and lunch. Find out more about school meals here.
  • Bus stop and route information: Bus stops and route information will be shared with families via the ParentVue accounts after August 13. All staff and students riding a bus will be required to wear a mask. For more information about bus transportation, including how to access the Bus Delay Notification System, visit the Transportation page.
  • Please make sure that you arrive at your stop location 10 minutes before the time listed
  • As a reminder, kindergarten students must be met at the stop by a trusted adult or student who is in 7th grade or older.
  • As shared by FCPS, staff and students will wear masks at all times indoors and on school buses in the fall. Masks will not be required when actively eating/drinking or when outside during recess, PE, or other activities. Universal masking is a critical safety mitigation factor in ensuring all students can return to our buildings.

Transportation Update

Due to the shortage of bus drivers across FCPS and for the need to try and limit as many double-back runs as possible, the Transportation office has informed schools that guest bus riders will not be allowed at the current time. At the elementary level, this usually means riding a friend’s bus to go home with them. Buses will be closer to capacity than usual, so they need to make sure that there are no guest riders on buses so that they can help avoid as many double-back runs as possible. Thank you in advance for adhering to this rule.
