IMPORTANT INFO & EVENTS
Virtual Freshman Parent Orientation - Tuesday, August 17, 6:00-7:00
- Conducted by Student Services and Administration. Information regarding the transition to high school for students (and parents). A link will be sent out on Tuesday to all freshmen parents.
Virtual Schoology Parent Program - Wednesday, August 18, 6:00-7:00
- Parents can experience and learn about the new student learning management system for students. Schoology replaces Blackboard and Google Classroom. Link will be sent out on Wednesday
Freshmen Orientation - Auditorium & Sophomore & New Student (10-12) Orientation - Cafeteria - Thursday, August 19, 1:00-3:00
- This is the students’ opportunity to learn about Madison from the administration, counselors and fellow students. Freshmen will get paired up with their mentors for the first time. Transportation provided from the following locations:
- Wolftrap ES: 11:30 departure, 3:30 return
- Vienna ES: 11:30 departure, 3:30 return
- Marshall Road ES: 11:30 departure, 3:30 return
- Cunningham Park ES: 11:30 departure, 3:30 return
Open House - Thursday August 19, 2:00-3:00
- An opportunity for all students to walk the building, find their classes and meet their teachers.
Fall Kick Off - Thursday August 19, 3:00-6:00
- Students and parents can learn about clubs, activities, Yearbook, spirit wear, PTSA registration, Academic Boosters, All-Night Grad and much more.
Laptop Pick Up: Laptop pick up is August 10-20. Sign up for a time slot: FCPSOn Pick Up Information. Students must be present to receive their laptop and bring a photo id (previous year’s school id, a driver’s license/learner’s permit, walker’s id, passport, etc. If no ID is available, we will work with the student to confirm identity.)
- Note: If your student is opting out of the FCPSOn device program, check our Technology Resources page for guidelines. Students and their families need to agree with the school on the protocol; it is not as easy as just bringing in their own laptop from home. (The administrator to speak with for your form would be the assistant principal assigned to your letter of the alphabet.)
Counselor Assignments: Several counselor assignments have changed this year due to departures. Please visit the following page for updated counselor assignments for the 2021-22 school year - Student Services Staff

Digital Resources Consent: All families are required to provide their consent for the use of digital tools used at Madison. Review the list and sign off here.
Senior Make Up Portrait Dates:
- 8/23/21 - 3 pm - 9 pm
- 8/24/21 - 3 pm - 9 pm
- 9/24/21 - 3 pm - 9 pm
- 10/22/21 - 3 pm - 9 pm
Senior students who still need to have their senior portraits taken need to schedule an appointment with LifeTouch. Students can use the “Search by City & State” feature on the studio's website https://prestigeportraits.com to schedule the appointment.
