Woodburn is excited to have our wildcats back in person. Please click here to read all about the new safety guidance that will be implemented across FCPS schools this year. You can read about breakfast and lunch, masking up, and revised health and safety guidance.
As well as providing safe schools, FCPS is providing safe transportation for our students. All students and staff are required to wear masks on all buses. The CDC federal order requiring masks be worn on public transportation remains in effect and applies to buses operated by Virginia public schools.
On August 13, an E-Notify with route information and intent will be sent out to all bus riding students. Parents can start checking ParentVue on 8/13 for the same data transportation is sending.
We will follow FCPS guidance for breakfast and lunch this coming school year. All students will receive free breakfast and lunch each day.
Breakfast - Students will pick up a hot breakfast when they arrive each morning. Breakfast will be eaten in the classroom.
Lunch - Students will eat in the cafeteria and receive a hot lunch. When considering safety, we explored various options and will monitor cafeteria use as we start the year.
Students will only remove masks when eating. You can support us at home by talking about this practice with your child.
We are excited to bring back our annual Welcome Walk event. On August 19, our teachers will visit homes and introduce themselves to their new students. Visits will occur between 10:00 and 12:00 pm. We hope you and your family will plan to be home during this time!
This year's Open House will be held on August 19 from 4:00-5:30 pm. Classroom teachers will share information that will ensure a successful start to the school year. Families are able to attend in-person or virtually. Classroom teachers will send a virtual meeting link prior to the event.
As we return to school each fall, there are certain mandatory forms that need to be filled out. Your child will receive a packet containing this information on the first day of school. Many forms can also be completed online and have been linked below.
-
Emergency Care Form or access through WeCare@school.
-
Health Information Form or access through WeCare@school.
- Student Rights & Responsibilities Form
- Opt-Out Forms
Digital Tools Consent Form - Now Available
At Woodburn, our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent can be found on our Woodburn School Website. A paper copy will also be included in first day packets. You do not need to complete both.
Included on this page is also a link to a form where the enrolling parent or guardian will need to indicate whether or not their student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval and why we must request your consent before using certain tools. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible, as your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission. Please reach out to Kelley Dauberman at krdauberman@fcps.edu If you have questions or concerns about the digital resources we’ve chosen to use this year.
