Open House - Important Change!!!

Friday, August 20, 2021

Students are invited to visit the school, meet their classroom teachers, and drop off school supplies.

Due to changes in our area's level of COVID transmission, we are shifting our Open House to reduce the number of people in the classroom at one time.

8:30 am - 9:30 am          Students Last Name A - L

9:30 am – 10:30 am       Students Last Name M - Z

  • On Wednesday, August 18 class assignments will be emailed to you. Please do not request a change to class assignment. Extensive work goes into reviewing feedback from staff and families. We are unable to honor all requests.
  • Due to health precautions, we ask that one adult per child attend Open House and that your family come during their time slot.
  • All students and adults are required to wear a mask inside school buildings regardless of vaccination status.
  • We have canceled the new student meeting with the counselors, originally scheduled for 8:30 am.  Please know that staff will be positioned near door 1 and around the school building to help families find classrooms.

PTA Buddy Program

Would you like to be part of the Buddy Program?  This year is more important than ever to make sure new families feel welcome at Wakefield Forest Elementary.  What does it mean to be a Buddy Family? This summer we will match you up with a new student and their family to help answer any questions they may have before starting school.  If you can, you will meet in person or via phone, Zoom, or FaceTime.  This will give the new student an opportunity to meet a new friend and when school resumes, have a familiar face to help them navigate the ins and out of Wakefield Forest Elementary.

If you are interested in becoming a Buddy Family, please send an email to Rebecca Gudicello at rebeccagudicello@gmail.com with the name of your student and their grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Please respond as soon as possible.  We hope that you will join us for the most rewarding program at WFES!!

Bus Information

Bus stops and route information will be shared with families via the ParentVue accounts on August 10. All staff and students riding a bus will be required to wear a mask. For more information about bus transportation, including how to access the Bus Delay Notification System, visit the Transportation page.
