Welcome Back Teacher Breakfast
Help us host a WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL breakfast for our amazing teachers & staff! We'll be collecting yummy breakfast items: - Monday 8/16 before 3PM (non-perishable & refrigerated items) - Tuesday 8/17 from 8-8:30 AM (fresh donuts, bagels, muffins, etc.) *On Tuesday morning, we'll have a drop-off station setup outside of the school for convenience. Mantua Drama Club Planning for 2021-22
We are excited to announce that Mantua Drama Club will partner with Julie Johnston's iContact to create a theater experience for our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. As we prepare for this upcoming year, we are attempting to learn more from those interested in participating. All of our planning in contingent on approval from the County given current COVID restrictions. All is subject to change. We hope to offer a series of Fall Theater Workshops (including a final musical presentation, open to guests) and a Spring Musical production (tentatively Seussical, Jr. which is presented to the community). The meetings will likely take place immediately after school until 5:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays (exact dates TBD - Fall roughly end of Sept to right before Thanksgiving and in the Spring mid February to mid May). An Information Session for students and parents is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 9th - 6:30 – 7:30 PM (Location TBD). School Year 2021-2022 Bus Ridership Intent
Because of a serious shortage of school bus drivers, it is important that Fairfax County Public Schools’ (FCPS) Office of Transportation Services plans the most efficient possible routes for the coming school year. Therefore, please respond to this survey to assist us in this planning. Submit a separate survey for each of your children enrolled in FCPS.
During the school year, changes to your intent can be made with your school's SIS operator if the need for transportation changes.

Submit your response today, one for each child in your household enrolled in FCPS. Your immediate attention to this matter is appreciated. Eligible riders needing transportation may review student route assignment by accessing ParentVue any time after August 9th, or by contacting your transportation or school office. Additions and adjustments will be made weekly. All students eligible for transportation services will be provided transportation, even those whose parents did not complete this survey. This information is important for planning purposes only.

Mantua student takes home first place at the 2021 US Geography Championships
On May 20, 2021, seven 5th and 6th graders from Mantua Elementary School competed in the International Academic Competition's US Geography Championships, an exam-based Geography competition. Mantua is very proud to announce that Nicholas Baxter placed first place in the nation in the Elementary Division. (See photo of Nicholas with his plaque and medal)
