Hello Shrevewood Owls and families! My name is Lauren Cohen and I am so excited to start my teaching career as a fourth grade teacher at Shrevewood Elementary School.
I grew up in Ashburn, Virginia and attended elementary, middle, and high school in Loudoun County. I went to James Madison University where I earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in Elementary Education in 2020. I attended JMU for graduate school as well and recently graduated this past May with a Master of Arts in Teaching. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, traveling, shopping, hiking, practicing yoga, and cooking.
I look forward to forming meaningful bonds with my students and their families. I hope to inspire my students to love learning and to become the best versions of themselves.

My name is Ioanna Avgousti, I was born and raised in Athens Greece where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Sociology from Panteion University. I came to the US in 2016 where I started teaching Pre-K students the Greek Language as well as the English Language. Teaching is my life’s passion and therefore I continued my professional development by attending the Career Switcher Program specializing in ESOL. I chose ESOL because my background allows me to relate with all of our students who come from foreign countries and I strongly believe I will become a great advocate for them and their families.
I am really excited to join the amazing team of Shrevewood Elementary as an ESOL teacher because of its excellent reputation for the quality of its teaching and the excellent behavior of its pupils. Shrevewood Elementary offers the perfect opportunity for me to use and hone my skills to support pupils who are new to the country both academically and socially so that they can integrate quickly and positively into the school community

🏫 UPDATE: Due to updates with our Student Information System (SIS), new teachers will not be available in the system until August 13th. Therefore we need to push back the distribution date for class placement. Families will receive their student's class placement via eNotify during the week of August 16th. The information will also be viewable in ParentVue on Thursday, August 19th.
