LBSS Administrative Update - August 6, 2021

SV

Dear Bruin Families!
We have two additional changes to our Admin Team to share with you.

eby

Ms. Elizabeth Eby, current Assistant Principal for Subschool 4, has accepted a position as the Culture and Climate Resource Teacher for Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Eby has called FCPS home for the past 14 years, and prior to coming to Lake Braddock has served as the Dean of Students at Luther Jackson Middle School and taught mathematics for 11 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Pre-healing Arts and Chemistry, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Educational Specialist Degree from Virginia Tech in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. As a first-generation college student, Ms. Eby believes that every student deserves a champion and that all students are capable of high levels of success. Whether connecting students and families to community resources for basic needs or promoting leadership opportunities, she believes the school should provide a wealth of opportunities to meet the needs of all stakeholders while cultivating trust, school-spirit, and inspiring those around her to write their own story of success. Ms. Eby will be moving to Florida and looks forward to planning her wedding, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

reeves

To fill Ms. Eby’s role in Subschool 4, we are happy to introduce Ms. Alison Reeves. Ms. Reeves is coming to Lake Braddock Secondary from Robinson Secondary, where she taught Spanish and was World Languages Department Chair. This will be her sixth year in Fairfax County Public Schools. Alison comes with a wealth of knowledge in high-quality instruction, cultural responsiveness, and technology use as she has sat on multiple committees running professional development for these topics. Alison believes in creating a positive and caring culture in order to be successful in the classroom. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Secondary Education from Mount St. Mary’s University and her Master of Science in Educational Administration from Trinity Washington University. Alison is excited to bring her energy and love of education into the Bruin hallways and help more teachers and students reach their full potential.

I hope you will join me in welcoming our new administrators when we return next month. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer. Go Bruins!
