Activities Update
As of now, fall sports are still on schedule to start on their original dates…… Golf may begin practice on July 29, and other fall sports may begin practice on Aug 2. Also as of now, the athletic calendar for the 2021-22 school year has not been altered and plans are to carry on as we did pre-pandemic.
Physicals and Registration Requirements for 2021-22
Below are the two things all athletes must have/do in order to try-out. Please check each individual sport page to see what else may be needed such as a try-out criteria.

VHSL Physical form to be filled out by a doctor. Must be dated AFTER May 1, 2021

Athletic Registration: Every family must register their athlete on the registration website. This serves as a one-stop shop where you can take care of the concussion requirement, ECC, and other permission forms.

HOW TO TURN IN YOUR PHYSICAL:
Athletes may send in their physical form through e-mail to Ms. Greger. A scanned copy or a picture of a completed form will be sufficient via email. Athletes may also drop their forms off in the Activities Office, in the main office to the attention of the Athletic Department, or may hand deliver them to one of the ATC’s at a workout and/or in the athletic training room.
Fall Sports Information 2021-22
Click on the google classroom link and/or the www.lancersportszone.net website link to get valuable information about all of the sports, and Lewis Athletics in general. Click on the google form and submit your information to the coach of your particular sport. Student-athletes are also encouraged to use the contact information below to connect with the coaches. Coaches may be sending out additional information and/or conducting meetings at some point as well.

As of today, there are no plans to alter the fall sports calendar. Practices and games will be conducted as they were pre-pandemic.
Attendance at green day workouts or yellow day workouts will require a physical and a hard copy of the emergency care card to be given to the coaches. Any student who is planning to participate in a fall is strongly encouraged to workout and be active as much as possible.
Lewis Athletic Booster Positions Still Needed
The Board is still seeking the following positions:
President - The president functions as the Chair and presides at all meetings of the Board and at all membership meetings, execute contracts, or other instruments as authorized by the Board or membership. The president represents the Boosters at meetings with outside groups or individuals; prepares agendas for all meetings; and sees that all notices are given in accordance with the provisions of these bylaws or as required by law.
Vice-President - Serve as executive assistant to the president and carry out those duties assigned by the president
Secretary - Certify and keep the original, or a copy of these bylaws; keep a record of the minutes of all meetings related to Boosters.
Volunteer Committees

Fundraising Committee for the purpose of devising and implementing ways of raising funds to carry out the goals of the Boosters

Membership Committee for the purpose of devising and implementing methods to increase membership in the Boosters.

Concessions Committee for the purpose of devising and implementing methods of concession stand operations including volunteers, supplies, new products, and cleanup

Special Events for the purpose of devising and implementing methods of operations for special events

Promotions, Media, and Public Relations Committee for the purpose of devising and implementing methods of operations for publications (or web site) of the organization

Summer Renovations
Please note that our stadium/track will be shut down completely from all use this summer. We are having our track resurfaced as well as some other upgrades to the facility. We apologize for the inconvenience but feel that it will be well worth it. Also, our main gym is closed for the summer as well as we get out roof top air conditioning units replaced. We likewise apologize for that inconvenience as well.
Summer Weight Room/Conditioning
Various teams will be conducting workouts during the summer months. In addition to that, Ms. Jackson will be conducting workouts 3 times a week for anybody who wants to join in. Please contact her at ajackson2@fcps.edu if you are interested in getting bigger, faster, and stronger.
