Registration For New Students

If you have any new friends or neighbors who have moved into the Waples Mill boundary, please encourage them to register their elementary-aged children as soon as possible. More information about the registration process, including the required documentation, can be found here. Please contact the school office, at (703)390-7700, if you have any questions! We look forward to welcoming students back to 5 days of in-person instruction this fall!


Summer Office Hours

During the summer months, our main office will be open Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, or by appointment. Please contact the Waples Mill office at (703)390-7700.


20-21 Student Laptop Return

WMES students who still have a school laptop checked out will need to return it in order for it to be updated and ready for the 21-22 school year. When returning the laptop, please be sure to return any chargers, mice, etc., that were issued to your student. Parents will be billed for any devices and peripherals not returned. 

Laptop Replacement Fee $472.00

Charger Replacement Fee $23.00

Laptops can be returned to the main office this week, between 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. If you have any questions, please contact Brian Crosson, our technology specialist, at btcrosson@fcps.edu. 

*Students participating in ANY FCPS Summer Program are not required to return their laptops until the conclusion of their summer program (this includes 6th graders).

Food For Students During Summer Months

FCPS Transitions to Schoology Learning Management System on July 1

Fairfax County Public Schools’ contract with Blackboard ends on June 30. The new learning management system is Schoology (pronounced /SKOO-luh-jee/). Schoology is a learning space that enhances communication, collaboration, and personalized learning for students, teachers, and families. Schoology will be used division-wide starting in July.

Parent accounts will be available in mid-August. To access Schoology, parents will need to have an active SIS/ParentVUE account.

Summer Math Challenge Opens June 21

VDOE has created a free six-week online math skills maintenance program designed for students who have just completed grades 1-8. The 2021 Challenge will support student learning at home and offers daily emails with fun activities and links to educational resources at each student’s ability level. Parents can monitor their child's progress and generate weekly badges and a certificate to celebrate accomplishments. Sign up for the Summer Math Challenge at the Lexile and Quantile Hub.
