Dear Franklin Sherman Families,
Today marks the end of a school year like none any of us had experienced before. The challenges were great as were the rewards! Our staff and students showed so many positive character strengths as we approached the unique challenges of this year. I am so proud of the work we accomplished together!
It was wonderful to see our sixth graders honored as they celebrated the culmination of their elementary school years at their promotion ceremony on Monday. Throughout this past week, teachers and students celebrated together in ways that resembled an almost typical end of year celebration. Not even the thunderstorms could dampen the spirits of our students and staff!
As we end this year and look forward to our summer, it is with mixed feelings of sadness and affection that we bid a fond farewell to the following Franklin Sherman staff members.
-
Laura Prodzenko is retiring after dedicating 25 years to FCPS!
-
Caroline Hood is moving to New York to be closer to family.
-
Alyssa Bello will be staying home with family next year.
-
Kristine Perry is off to new adventures in Florida.
-
Katie Lauricella is transitioning into a new position as a fulltime AART at Bailey's Lower. Congratulations, Katie!
-
Heather Anderson is staying home to be a new mom.
Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I’ll miss you
Until we meet again!

Later this summer, I will introduce you to our new staff. For now, rest and relax and maybe even read a good book together.
See you soon!
Ms. Quigley
