Congratulations to our 6th Graders! We will miss you!
Today we close out an extraordinary school year, one we will always remember. We have all learned new vocabulary words: virtual, hybrid, synchronous, asynchronous, concurrent. I think we all have a new appreciation for the comfort of learning in our classrooms, together, without masks. We miss our recess games of tag and basketball. For most of the year, we missed seeing the smiles of our friends.
Together we made the best of this challenging year. Parents, thank you for partnering with us to help our children through frustrations with virtual learning. Thank you for giving your children hugs when reopening plans changed and you quietly unpacked backpacks. Thank you for communicating with their teachers to keep them engaged and learning through countless transitions this year. We certainly could not have survived this year without your support! We are looking forward to a much more "typical" school year for 2021-2022 and we are so fortunate to have you all as a part of our community!
We wish you all the most amazing summer ever!
We would like to thank our outgoing PTA Board:

Best wishes to all of our students and their families who are leaving Oakton. we will miss each and every one of you!

A Fond Farewell...
The end of the year inevitably brings changes to our staff and we must say goodbye to some people who have made a significant impact on our school. We are sad to see them go and wish them the very best in their endeavors.
Mary Wolfer, Kindergarten Teacher, has decided to stay home with her newborn son. We thank Ms. Elena Fergusson who was the long-term sub in Mrs. Wolfer's class this spring!
Nicole Bognar, 3rd grade teacher, will be teaching XX grade at Springfield Estates ES.
Annie Greenberg, 4th grade AAP teacher, will be teaching at Fairhill ES.
Melissa Graham, AART, was split between us and Crossfield this year. Next year she will be working solely with Crossfield ES.
Fumie Maxstadt, Kindergarten IA, is retiring and looking forward to traveling and spending more time with her family.
