Fairfax Villa Elementary Assistant Principal Announcement

KJ

Dear Fairfax Villa Families,

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that I have accepted an offer to become the next assistant principal at Oak Hill Elementary School beginning this July.  Both FCPS and the Region 5 office believe in professional growth and new opportunities for all staff members and they have provided me the opportunity to expand my professional experience as an assistant principal.  As happy as I am to be pursuing my next administrative endeavor, I am also sad that I find myself saying goodbye to you and your children.

I would like to thank you for the opportunity you have given me to serve the Villa community in the last five years.  Fairfax Villa is a very special place to me and I am grateful that our paths have crossed in this amazing community.  It has been my honor and privilege to have served such a special community.

All my best,

KJ An

Your proud AP for life!

Dear Fairfax Villa Staff and Community,

It comes with great excitement that I have been asked to be part of your community. I am transitioning from the assistant principal at Cub Run Elementary School to the assistant principal at Fairfax Villa Elementary School.

I am excited to bring a wealth of knowledge through my varied experiences as your new assistant principal and as a dedicated educator for over 30 years. As a military spouse, I’ve lived in many different states and taught in many different schools. I’ve spent the last 17 years of my career serving as a classroom teacher (of multiple grade levels), a math resource teacher at Providence Elementary School, an instructional coach in different elementary schools, and an administrative intern in a Title One elementary school. During that time, I supported the community in implementing best practice strategies that support what is now known as the county’s Theory of Action. Some highlights include implementing a county-wide training of how to better recycle our waste to save our environment and to give our middle and high school students equitable and various opportunities through a volunteer and apprenticeship program known as X2Vol. However, the best highlights have been to see my students learn and grow year after year.

I am thrilled to join your team and community and look forward to watching our Fairfax Villa Dragons learn and grow!

Sincerely,
Shelia Sobeski
