Crossfield Laptop Return

Crossfield students who currently have a school laptop checked out will need to return it at the end of this school year. When returning the laptop, you must also return the charger. If your child was issued a protective sleeve, you may keep that sleeve for future use.

Please plan on your child returning their laptop as listed below, based on their attendance method:

4 Day/Week and Thurs/Fri In-Person Students: Laptops and chargers will be turned in during the school day on Thursday, June 10. Please help your student remember to bring their laptop and charger to school.

Virtual Students & Tues/Wed In-Person Students: Please return all laptops and chargers on Friday, June 11 from 2:30-4:00. Parents should pull through the Bus Loop and hand materials to a staff member. Any virtual students who cannot come to the drop-off event can bring the laptop & charger to the office during the week of June 7 during school hours(assuming they have another device to login to class), Monday, June 14 or Tuesday, June 15 between 8:30 AM - 1: 00 PM. All laptops & chargers are due by Tuesday, June 15 at the latest.

Reminder

End of Year Medication Pickup Information

All medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than student dismissal time (2:15 p.m.) on the last day of school, Friday, June 11. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded.  It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian.  Medication cannot be sent home with your student.

If your child will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, your existing long-term medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program.  Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).

Your cooperation will ensure that we can safely give your student his or her medication.  If you have any questions, please contact Mary Deschene, our school health room aide, at (703) 295.1112 or email mdeschene@fcps.edu.  Thank you!

Attention Parents of Rising 7th Graders

The Code of Virginia requires all students to be immunized against certain communicable diseases prior to entrance into Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).

Effective July 1, 2021 all students entering 7th grade will be required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations prior to the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap), and Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY).

7th grade students cannot begin school in August without proper Tdap and Meningococcal documentation.

Please provide one of the following documents to Crossfield Elementary School, Kathy Theis, katheis@fcps.edu as soon as possible:

  1. An updated immunization record showing that the student has received the missing immunization(s).
  2. A note on a healthcare provider’s letterhead stating the date the vaccine(s) was given.
  3. A healthcare provider’s written statement of a permanent or temporary medical exemption.
  4. A notarized Religious Exemption Form which is available online at: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/support/health_medical/certificate_religious_exemption.pdf

Immunizations are available from your student's healthcare provider or the Fairfax County Health Department. The Health Department clinic locations and hours are available online at: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/health/immunization/school or by calling 703-246-2411.

Please contact Kathy Theis 703-295-1117 or email katheis@fcps.edu if you have any questions.
