Mosby Matters - June 9, 2021

Whew! What a rollercoaster ride this year has been! Despite many challenges and obstacles, we’ve reached the finish line of this unique school year. Our kids have survived and some even thrived in the virtual and in-person settings. We’re so fortunate to have such resilient kids and such amazing teachers. We’re grateful for your support in making our health and safety the first priority. Thank you for your extreme flexibility and the patience and grace you’ve shown to our teachers.  We’re looking forward to returning to school for 5 days in person beginning August 23rd.  We will have a new name in Mosaic, but will continue to be the same connected school family and community. I wish all of our Mustangs and all of you a happy, healthy summer.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mahri Aste

Principal

Laptop and MiFi Return

Please review this information detailing our plan for collecting student laptops.

All students must return their FCPS-issued laptop and charger. We are not collecting the laptop sleeves. Keep them for next year's laptop.

  • In-person students return their laptops, wrapped chargers, and MiFi devices to their homeroom teacher on the last day of school, June 11. Laptops can be turned in before the last day if students have another personal device at home that they can use for school.
  • Virtual students and those unable to return their laptop in-person return their laptops, wrapped chargers, and MiFi devices on June 11 between 2:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. in the Kiss and Ride lane at Mosby Woods.

Curbside Collection Details:

When you arrive at Mosby Woods, please pull into the Kiss and Ride lane and wait for a staff member to come to your car. Be prepared to wait for a brief amount of time so that we may scan in the devices.

Prior to returning laptop:

  • Remove all personal stickers and decals.
  • Clean device to the best of your ability.
  • Have this information attached to your laptop:
    • Full Name
    • Student ID number
  • Have your charger ready to turn in with your laptop. Please wrap your charger to the best of your ability.
  • We are not collecting laptop sleeves. Keep them for next year's laptop.

*If you are unable to return your laptop on the scheduled dates, you may drop-off the laptop and charger on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. from June 15 to July 1. All laptops should be returned by July 1.

**Students attending summer school can continue to use their FCPS laptop and MiFi device and return them to their summer school teacher on the last day of summer school.
