Laptop return

This year FCPS is requiring ALL students to return their school-issued laptops and chargers with a few exceptions.

If a student is participating in a class over the summer, credit recovery, or enrichment activities, they will hold onto their laptops and chargers until the activity has been completed.  Once they complete it, they will bring their laptops to the main office here at Robinson during summer hours.

Two summer activities that WILL NOT be keeping their laptops are: 1. Math Boot Camp and 2. Rising 8th grade RAMping Up.

If you are not sure if your child will need their laptop for a specific activity, please email the organizer of the activity to get verification.

If you have any other specific questions, please feel free to contact Assistant Principal Chris Farmerie at cfarmerie@fcps.edu

Medication Pick-Up By June 10

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal on Thursday June 10, 2021. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room. Please contact Health Room with questions or concerns at (703) 426-2110.

NJHS Certificate Pick-up June 11

If you were inducted into the 2021 Robinson Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society, but have yet to receive your certificate, you will have one more opportunity to pick it up. The pick-up day will be the laptop turn in day of June 11th from 10am-12pm. Mrs. Williams will be stationed in the supply drop off area located in the field house.  If you do not pick-up your certificate on this date, it will be mailed home. Congratulations to our 2021 NJHS recipients!

Collecting School Issued History Novels June 11

Hello 8th Grade Parents!

We need your help! When school closed last March, many of our students were still in possession of 7th Grade History novels. We know it’s been a while, but the Robinson Middle School Social Studies Department is asking if you and your child can please look around your home for one of the books listed below. If you happen to find one of our books, we will be collecting the novels from 10:00am-2:00pm in the Robinson Field House (Gym) on Friday, June 11th. We greatly appreciate your support to get our books back so next year’s group can get back to reading!

  •  Ashes of Roses by Mary Jane Auch
  • Uprising by Margaret Peterson Haddix
  • Under a War Torn Sky by L.M. Elliott
  • Code Talkers by Joseph Bruchac
  • The Bomb by Theodore Taylor
  • BOMB by Steve Sheinkin
  • Warriors Don’t Cry by Melba Pattillo Beals
  • Farewell to Manzanar by Jeanne Wakatsuki
  • Shooting the Moon by Frances O’Roark Dowell

Thank you,

7th Grade History Teachers

Summer Learning Programs

2021 Summer Math Boot Camp

August 9 - 12, 2021

Robinsons Secondary’s Math Department would like to invite your student to register for and attend one of our Math Boot Camps this summer. These three-hour sessions for 4 days will help students refine fundamental prerequisite math skills needed to be successful in the math course in which they are enrolled for the upcoming school year. As you know, high school mathematics courses are extremely challenging, and our Math Boot Camp will help alleviate some of the pressures these difficult courses may create.

View the complete letter of invitation and link to registration form here.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity to give your student an edge in math this year, please register online at http://bit.ly/ROBOMathSummer2021.

Payment will be collected by PayPal, using the instructions provided upon

Course Selection Confirmation

Parents, last week you should have received a letter that included your student’s course selections for the 2021-2022 school year.  This is not their actual schedule, but a list of classes that they are enrolled in for next year.  Please review the letter and courses with your child.  While every effort is made to accommodate students’ first elective choices, we cannot guarantee placement in any particular elective course until the student’s schedule is finalized in August.

Also, if you will be moving or changing schools over the summer, please complete the intent form and send that to Melanie Knowlton (maknowlton@fcps.edu).

If you need any help with the course selections, please reach out to the appropriate counselor.
