Farwell Message - Class of 2021

Annandale Seniors and Families:

Congratulations on an amazing graduation ceremony hosted here at Annandale for the first time in over 50 years! The event was featured on NBC4 Washington and Telemundo 44 Washington DC

Jimmy Le, President of the Class of 2021, spoke of some of the stereotypes that our students may face, and advised his fellow classmates to “remain critical, to always hold yourself and others accountable, and when the world is writing a story that you do not like, pick up the pen for yourself.”

Mario Ramos, the keynote speaker and classroom monitor here at Annandale, reminded our graduates that, “There are people who will judge you by skin color, the clothes you wear or how well you speak English. But here at Annandale High School things are different.” Asking each graduate to spread The Annandale Way to the world around them, never stop knocking on the doors in front of them, and “most importantly, to open any doors you can for those around you.”

I am continually amazed and impressed by the growth this class has  experienced and the success you have achieved and I am confident that as you leave, you will continue to do great things.

The faculty and I are so proud of what you have accomplished both individually and as a class, especially given the extraordinary circumstances of the past year. It has been our honor to serve you and to be a part of your high school journey.

We wish you success in all you do and on behalf of the Annandale High School staff, congratulations to the Class of 2021!

Shawn DeRose, Principal

Senior Awards Ceremony

Senior Awards CeremonyWe are so incredibly proud of our seniors and all they have overcome and accomplished in their time here at Annandale. We want to recognize the amazing achievements and diligent work of the Class of 2021! We wish we could celebrate their successes in person, however the members of the Annandale staff have created a tribute video to recognize the recipients of this year’s Senior Awards.

Our Senior Awards Ceremony presents students with community awards and scholarships, as well as recognizes students selected for their excellence in each academic department at Annandale. By no means are the awards presented a comprehensive list of all the achievements of our seniors, but rather represent a sample of the talent demonstrated by this graduating class. A comprehensive list of all awards presented can be found in the Senior Awards Program
