Congresswoman Wexton Visit to Cooper

Cooper had a special guest visit on Friday, May 28th.  Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton visited Cooper along with our school board representative, Elaine Tholen, and member-at-large school board representative, Karen Keys Gamarra.  Our visitors were treated to a performance by our Symphonic Band,were able to see concurrent instruction in practice, and Civics students were able to participate in a question and answer session.

Pick-up of school medications.

If you brought medication(s) for your student to school to be distributed in the clinic, please come during school hours to pick them up by June 11th at 12:00. Any medications left after that time will be discarded.


Yearbook sales and distribution

Online sales are now closed but you can bring a check to the front office, $45 made out to Cooper Middle School, to reserve your yearbook! Yearbooks will be distributed this Friday.


Library books are due

THE END IS NEAR! – The end of the year, that is!

All library books are DUE this Friday, June 4th.  

  •         The latest email notices of books still checked out to students was sent Tuesday, June 1 to students and a parent.
  •         If you have an 8th grade virtual student, your books may be returned on June 9th if you are attending the 8th grade party.
  •         Or, any virtual student may return their library books in the blue plastic bin just outside door 1.
  •         Mistakes happen .  .  .  . If your student received an overdue notice and they think that it was returned, please don’t ignore the notice -

Summer Practice Books

Summer Practice Books will be mailed home to FCPS students to provide suggested activities for students to support continued learning.  Families who have opted-out of paper mailings from the division will only receive digital copies of the Summer Practice Books.  Books will be mailed home to families in early June to arrive before the last day of school, June 11, 2021.  Digital versions of books will be emailed to the enrolling parent SIS account in PDF format the week of June 7, 2021.

  • Pre-Kindergarten students will receive one interdisciplinary Summer Practice Book.
  • Students enrolled in grades K-8 in 2020-21 will receive one Language Arts Practice Book and one Math Practice Book by course enrollment.  These books will also include information and guidance about digital tools that can be accessed by students and families to support learning throughout the summer.
  • English Learners and Special Education students may receive additional or customized books.

One-to-One Tech Distribution for 2021-2022 School Year

It’s with great excitement that we are actively planning for five days of in-person instruction next school year.  Students enrolled in Cooper Prep will have an opportunity to pick up their laptops on August 11 or 12.  Times will be advertised for August 12 and 19 for students not enrolled in Cooper Prep to pick up their laptop from school.  Any student who is unable to pick up a laptop prior to the start of school will receive it on the first day of school.
