Dates to Remember:

June 11th: Last day for regular classes, 2 hour early release

June 14th: Laptop return, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

June 15th:  Summer Office hours begin

July 5th-6th:  Fairhill Office will be closed for the holiday

July 23rd: Final order deadline for the 2021-22 school supplies from EduKit 

August 23rd: First day of classes for the 2021-22 school year

Administrator Avenue Dear Fairhill Family, This unpredictable and unprecedented school year has come to a close. We are so proud of our tigers and all that they have done during a global pandemic. Our staff is simply the best and showed up every day for our community. Please take the summer to read and enjoy your family time. For those of you leaving Fairhill for Luther Jackson Middle School and other elementary schools know that you are loved and will always be a tiger. It has been a privilege to partner with Fairhill parents, staff members, and tigers during my time as principal. I offer my sincere wishes for the continued success of Fairhill Elementary and I leave knowing that amazing things will continue to occur. Fairhill Laptop Collection Information At the end of the school year, all Fairhill laptops will be collected. The only exception is if your child is participating in a Fairfax County Public Schools sponsored summer program. Those enrolled in an FCPS summer program will keep their laptop until completion of that program. In-Person Students- your child will return their laptop during the last week of school. I will coordinate with their classroom teacher for collection on either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the last week. Please ensure that students continue to bring their laptop and charger to school each day. Virtual Students- collection will take place on Monday, June 14th from 9:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. in the Fairhill Bus Loop. All virtual students or other students who have not returned their laptop, need to bring their laptop and charger to Fairhill during this window. 6th Grade Students- All 6th grade students (including in-person students) will return their laptop on Monday June 14th between 9:30-3:30 in the Fairhill Bus Loop in order to be able to use their FCPS laptop for the Promotion Ceremony. For all collections, laptops and chargers must be returned. If you were issued a laptop holder/protective case, you need to keep it as you will continue to use it in future years. If you were issued a “Mifi Device”, the case along with all components needs to be returned as well.   If you have questions about laptop collection or any technology end of year processes, please contact Stephen Giese (swgiese@fcps.edu).

Graduation Day for FCHS

FCHS graduate Rachel Hirz is cheered on by Ms. Laws' first graders as she comes back to Fairhill in her cap and gown.  Congratulations Rachel!

Summer Office Hours Fairhill ES Summer Office Hours will be in effect beginning June 15th.  The Office will be open, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

School Supplies for 2020-21

Make back to school shopping easy by ordering an EduKit for your tiger.  Each kit contains exactly what your child's teacher has requested for next year. Simply go to https://www.edukitinc.com/schools/1683/ and place your order today.  Orders will be delivered to Fairhill and placed in your child's classroom prior to the first day of school.

For best pricing, place your order by June 30, 2020.  Final order deadline is July 23, 2020.

2020-2021 Fairhill Yearbooks are here! There are extra yearbooks available for families who did not purchase a copy through Lifetouch.  The cost of each yearbook is $20. Payment methods are cash and checks, made payable to Fairhill ES. Payment is due at the time of yearbook pick up.  Please come by the Fairhill Office between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. if you would like to purchase one. Hurry before we run out!   Please call the Fairhill Office if you have any questions.

Library Book Returns All library books were due Friday, May 28th. If you have not returned your books, please do so.  In-building learners may return books any day they are in school. At-home learners may return books M-F from 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. by placing books in the wagon at the front entrance. Fun Run/Fitness Week (possibly fall 2021) As we look ahead to the fall, we hope to be able to offer some of the fun programs from previous years. A fun run/ fitness week would be a great way to kick off the new school year.  We are in search of a committee to run the event.  Won't it feel nice to see our kids all back together again?  If we want to have a fun run/ fitness week in the fall, planning must start now.  See below for a summary of the responsibilities.  Process documents are available from the previous fun run/fitness week to get you started. If you are interested in joining the fun run committee or would like to learn more before committing your time, please join us for our preliminary planning meeting.  Joining the first discussion does not obligate you to participate further.  Details and dates for the preliminary planning meeting will be forthcoming.  Interested?  Please add your name to this signup genius and we will be in touch.  Participate in a committee to coordinate what will potentially be the           biggest fundraiser of the year. Pick a fundraising platform (can use the platform from our last fun run) Design the fitness week activities. Coordinate incentives. Work with the school to schedule and roll out the event.

Registration for Fairfax County's School Age Child Care Coming Soon

Fairfax County’s School Age Child Care (SACC) program will be open to provide before- and after-school services for the 2021-22 school year. The SACC program is currently assessing Center capacities based on health and safety protocols. More information for the 2021-22 school year program will be available by June 15 on the SACC website. Families who were previously enrolled will be contacted to determine their need for services.

PreK and Early Head Start Accepting Applications for SY 2021-22 /  FCPS PreK y Early Head Start

PreK and Early Head Start is an income eligible program serving children ages 3 or 4 by September 30 in multiple classrooms across the county and ages 6 weeks to 2 years in the Reston, Herndon and Springfield areas. 

FCPS PreK and Early Head Start is now accepting applications for School Year 2021-22!  Please watch this video to see if your 3 or 4 year old may qualify for PreK.
