Principal Message

Dear Marshall Road Families,

As we turn our calendars to June we have much to celebrate. Our staff have worked tirelessly to ensure your children received the best learning experience possible during the pandemic. Our students have grown in their ability to learn in different settings and with a variety of challenges and we are proud of them. We are especially proud of our 6th grade class that will be moving up to middle school next year. We look forward to seeing all of our 6th graders on June 9, from 6:30-7:30 pm as they drive through the MRES loop one more time. We regret not having a “normal” year with them and wish them the very best. Today, many of our older Roadrunners who are high school seniors will be graduating. We celebrate them and all of their achievements throughout elementary, middle and high school.

Looking forward to these last two weeks of school with your children.

Peace.

School Events

Election Day - June 8

FCPS will have virtual synchronous instruction for all students on June 8th. Marshall Road will follow our normal synchronous schedule of 10:00 am-3:45 pm.

Laptop Return

Students with FCPS issued laptops and mifi devices will be expected to return them to school according to the dates below. If you are moving or leaving before the last day of school, please drop your device off before leaving for the summer. Please help your child clean their device screen and keyboard carefully with a screen wipe or Lysol disinfectant wipe and wrap up their charging cable neatly. If your child will be a part of the MRES summer school program at Vienna Elementary this summer, they may check out their laptop for the remainder of June and July and will return it to Marshall Road in early August. If your child does not need their school-issued laptop for the remainder of the school year, it may be returned to their teacher or the main office at any time.

100% Virtual Students: Students who are not attending school in person can return their laptops during a drive-through collection on Friday, June 11 from 2:00-4:00 pm or on Monday, June 14 from 8:30-11:00 am. Laptops may also be returned to the front office through the end of the day on Monday, June 14.

In Person Students: Students will return their devices to their classroom teachers during their final week of school, with the LAST DAY to return for each grade level listed below.

  • Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Wednesday, June 9
  • 2nd and 3rd Grade: Wednesday, June 9
  • 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade: Thursday, June 10

Is Your Family Moving this Summer?

If your answer is “yes”, please complete the Student’s Intentions for the Next School Year  form. Once completed, please email it to the school registrar, Shelly Koshuta at mmarcumkoshu@fcps.edu. If you cannot complete this form electronically, please call the office to make other arrangements. If you have already notified the registrar that you are moving, you do not need to submit this form. This form is used by FCPS to project each school’s total enrollment for the next school year. Questions about filling out this form should be directed to the Marshall Road Office at 937-1500.
