Principal's Message

Dear Bulldog Family--

I hope that everybody had a wonderful weekend and is ready for a great week! I hope that part of your weekend included some time to remember the purpose of Memorial Day. As a school, we are incredibly grateful for those that currently and/or have served, and honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. We know that this impacts families and friends as well, and I want to thank all of you.

We have another busy week this week full of events and activities. Below is more specific information. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, feedback or celebrations. You can also communicate directly through the form located here: https://forms.gle/4eW9rgPRVBF2a5gd8

Go Bulldogs!

WESTFIELD HS PTSA dissolving for 2021/2022 school year

That subject line may be true without your help.  In order to have solvent PTSA we must have a treasurer and President.  As of today, we have no parent or community members willing to take the position of president. Again, no one from our Westfield community has answered the call, and we are in danger of losing all the PTSA does next year.

As you know, our PTSA is a volunteer run organization that has been at Westfield for years. This is what the PTSA does for your students and staff:  ACE awards (Academic award), Bulldog Cafe, Hospitality for Teacher Appreciation week and Back to School week, Senior Mulch Sales, Reflections Art program, the Silent Auction fundraiser, Senior Grad Yard Signs, PTSA scholarships for seniors, Mini-grants for teachers,  Food Pantry, and others.

At this point, we've not received any volunteer interest in the nominating committee for our new board, nor for the couple Executive Board positions that will be open. If we do not have the President slot filled, we do not have a PTSA anymore. The secretary position is open as well.

There are only a handful of things that must happen to maintain the PTA...so if you can volunteer 4-6 hours per month, this will ensure the sustainability of the PTA for another school year. We have committee positions open but most importantly, in order for the PTSA to continue, we need to fill a couple more slots on the board.

We are happy to discuss the duties of maintaining the PTSA if you might be interested in volunteering for next year.  As well, this year's president and secretary will certainly guide the new folks coming in. Please contact us as soon as possible at: Jgoodchild@yahoo.com.
