End of the Year Student Laptop Collection Information

It is time to start planning for our end-of-year student laptop collection. All FCPS student laptops and any laptop accessories (chargers, mice, MiFis, and carrying cases) must be returned at the end of the school year. Specific dates, times, and locations for technology drop-off are listed below:

  • Thursday June 10th: All 6th grade students will turn in their borrowed technology when they attend our 6th grade promotion ceremony. We will have a table set up in our main lobby where technology can be dropped off.
  • Friday June 11th  (last day of school): All in-person students will turn in their borrowed technology inside the building when they come to school. Virtual students can begin turning in their borrowed technology from 2:00-4:00pm in front of McNair Upper (doors 1 & 2).
  • Monday June 14th: Virtual students can continue turning in their borrowed technology from 10:30-4:00pm in front of McNair Upper (doors 1 & 2).
  • If you are unable to attend any of our technology drop-off days please contact our School Based Technology Specialist, Mr. Matthews (wpmatthews@fcps.edu), to make alternative arrangements.
  • If your laptop or charger is lost, please contact the office and we will send payment instructions. Laptop costs approximately $479 and charger costs approximately $25, depending on the model you were issued. Any device not returned by Monday, June 14 will be considered lost and bills will be issued after that date.

Field Day is Next Friday!

Next Friday, June 4th we will be celebrating the “Olympics” style MUES Field Day.  We are celebrating with a Virtual Field Day as well as In-Person Field Day this year. Grades 3-4th will participate from 10-12:10pm and Grades 5-6th will be from 1-3:10pm. Virtual students can participate in our Virtual MUES Olympic Field Day during their grade level time at Home and information will be posted in their PE Google Classroom. Unfortunately, virtual students are not able to come to school and participate in the In-Person Field Day events.

How students can be prepared for Field Day?

  • Because the weather will likely be warm, students should wear comfortable and cool clothing.
  • Some stations will involve water and students may get wet.  If students do not want to get wet, they should notify their teacher and not participate.  No swimsuits are allowed, but you may bring a change of clothes.
  • Bring at least 2 masks.
  • Students must wear SNEAKERS to participate safely.  Boots, sandals or flip flops are not allowed on this day.
  • Hats and visors may be worn for protection from the sun; as well as sunscreen.
  • Please bring a full bottle of water with student’s name written on it. No glass containers please. A water station will also be available outside, but we will have a limited amount of cups.
  • Please do not bring juice, soda or any drink other than water as it could attract bees.
  • Most importantly… Be prepared to have FUN!!!
