Dear Floris Families,

This is the last Friday Message of the 2020-2021 school year. It has been a school year of many changes and we are so excited to be planning for the return to in-person five days a week in the fall.

Please remember that ALL FCPS students are virtual next Tuesday, June 8, due to the Election Day. It is a synchronous virtual learning day and students should log on at 9:45am for Morning Meeting. There is no in-person learning next Tuesday, June 8.

We look forward to celebrating our 6th graders next week on June 8th and June 11th. 6th grade families- please contact your child's homeroom teacher if you have not received the Google link and details for both days.

If your child has been attending in-person and has medication in the School Health Room, a parent must come to Floris by Friday, June 11 at 2:30pm to pick up the medication.

Please watch for emails this summer as we prepare for the first day of school on August 23, 2021. We will be sending dates and times for the Floris Open House and Back to School Nights later in the summer.

We cannot say enough how appreciative we are for the flexibility, understanding and encouragement of our families throughout this year.  We hope you all have a safe, relaxing and amazing summer!

Summer Access to Digital Resources

Great news!  All current students will continue to have access to many of the digital resources they have utilized this school year.  Students will be able to access the programs housed in Clever (ST Math, Imagine Learning, Wixie) through August 6th.  After that point, class sectioning will begin at the IT level, so Clever access will be limited.  Throughout the summer, students will still have access to MyOn, PebbleGo, TumbleBooks, and all of our research databases.  Student usernames and passwords will remain the same over the summer, so logging in will be no different.

Check out our Student Resources Site, which serves as a landing page for our digital resources!

* Please note that the Student Resources Site requires a student (fcpsschools.net) login for security purposes.*

FCPS Summer Practice Books

Summer Practice Books will be mailed home to FCPS students to provide suggested activities for students to support continued learning.  Families who have opted-out of paper mailings from the division will only receive digital copies of the Summer Practice Books.  Books will be mailed home to families in early June to arrive before the last day of school, June 11, 2021.  Families will receive email communication later in May about upcoming book arrival.  Digital versions of books will be emailed from FCPS to the enrolling parent SIS account in PDF format the week of June 7, 2021.

  • Students enrolled in grades K-8 in 2020-21 will receive one Language Arts Practice Book and one Math Practice Book by course enrollment.  These books will also include information and guidance about digital tools that can be accessed by students and families to support learning throughout the summer.
  • English Learners and Special Education students may receive additional or customized books.

More information can be accessed on the Summer Practice Books public webpage
