We recognize and acknowledge the increased interest in summer learning this year. Invitations for our Summer Learning Programs have gone out. Our summer classes are at or close to capacity, but there may be an opportunity to have a few additional students enrolled.
If you believe your child would benefit and are interested in having your child waitlisted for one of the classes described below, please email Jo Gordon, our Summer Site Director, at jgordon@fcps.edu by Friday, May 28.

Bridge to Kindergarten is designed for students entering kindergarten who have had little or no prior pre-school experience. This program focuses on daily kindergarten routines, math, and literacy experiences, as well as becoming familiar with the school environment.

Bridge to First is designed for students entering first grade in the fall who have had little or no prior pre-school experience. This program focuses on daily kindergarten routines, math, and literacy experiences, as well as becoming familiar with the school environment.

SOAR (grades 1-5) is a summer experience that provides opportunities for students to enhance math and literacy skills while developing FCPS Portrait of a Graduate attributes such as effective communication, collaboration, critical and creative thinking, and ethical citizenship.
The summer program at Floris will be in session July 12-30, Monday through Friday, from 9:40am to 1:40pm. This is an in-person program only. There is no fee and bus transportation is available within school boundaries.
You will be contacted in June if we are able to enroll your child from the waitlist.
