Calendar Change - June 8 All Virtual
Oak View wants families to know that voting day, Tuesday, June 8, is now a 100% Virtual Synchronous instruction day. All students in FCPS will be learning from home on Tuesday, June 8 with synchronous instruction. This is due to the need to use 165 FCPS buildings, including Oak View, as polling locations. These polling places require large open spaces to properly socially distance this year, requiring the change. This is still a school day and students will attend class online from home.

Positivity Project Trait of the Week: Positivity in Action
For the remainder of the year, we'll be focusing on the Positivity in Action through the Other People Mindset. This mindset consists of the five elements intended to help people understand ways to build positive relationships in their own lives: identifying and appreciating the good in others, knowing my words and actions affect others, supporting others when they struggle, cheering others’ successes, and being present and giving others my attention. Research shows that relationships are a key predicator of health, happiness, and resilience. The National Scientific Council on the Developing Child (NSCDC) at Harvard University observed: “The single most common finding is that children who end up doing well have had at least one stable and committed relationship with a supportive parent, caregiver, or other adult.”
Be sure to visit the P2 for Families website. The password to access these Positivity resources can be found on the OV Connection 24-7 site. Thank you for keeping the conversations going at home!
