Vaccination Requirement for Rising Seniors - Effective July 1, 2021, rising seniors are required to have one dose of Meningococcal Vaccine (MenACWY, Menactra, or Menveo). This requirement is for all current 11th graders/rising seniors. Parents or guardians should ask their private healthcare provider, or the health department, to review their student's immunization record to ensure that their student has received these required immunizations.   If you need to submit an updated immunization record, please send it/drop it off to Ms. Leslie Dorsey in Student Services. More information on new immunization requirements is available here

Twelfth grade students cannot begin school in August without documentation of the Meningococcal vaccine with one dose given at age 16 or older. 

 

Class of 2021 “The Wonder Years” Prom-A-Nade, May 22, 6–10:00 p.m. Seniors will enjoy an evening of reminiscing through the years under the stars. RSVP’s required and will be verified at check in.  Entrance will be through the cafeteria patio doors.  

 

Graduation Rehearsal, Wednesday, June 2, 9:00 a.m., WP Stadium - Rehearsal followed by the distribution of graduation tickets. After the rehearsal, graduates can attend a senior picnic on the stadium grounds. Senior t-shirts will be distributed for those who did not receive one.  All events should wrap up by 1:00 p.m.

 

Senior Dues Now Due! - This year’s Senior dues were reduced to $50 and are now due. These funds will cover the Cap and Gown, Diploma Covers, and Senior Shirts and Activities. 

Payment accepted through your student’s www.myschoolbucks.com account: 1) Click on "School Store;” 2) Click “Browse All Items;" 3) Click "View Details" inside the "Class of 2021 Senior Dues" box; and 4) Click “Select.“ Your Senior’s name should be in the drop down option.  You may also pay by check payable to West Potomac High School. Thanks to everyone who has already paid!

 

Test Prep Material Donation Drive, West Po Student Equity Coalition, May 1-June 5: All done with test prep? Donate your SAT, ACT, AP, and other prep books and materials to be redistributed to West Potomac students who wouldn't otherwise have access to them. Drop off locations outside Door 1 and other school locations.  Monetary donations also accepted. FCPS Adult & Community Education (ACE) is hosting a virtual open house for High School Students and Families. The Fort Hunt High School Alumni Association Scholarship: The Fort Hunt High School Alumni Association is seeking applications from college-bound WPHS Seniors to be recipients of their Educational Awards. The Fort Hunt High School (FHHS) Alumni Association will present four applicants with single $500 gift cards which can be used to pay for college expenses that might not be covered by financial aid from their college or university. Examples of such expenses are laptops, tablets and books. Four (4) deserving students will be selected.

SAT & ACT TEST PREP MOCKS AND GROUP CLASSES – 2020/21

Need Flexibility? SELF-DIRECTED ONLINE CLASSES

The test prep program is offering self-directed online test prep created by Applerouth. This is an excellent course that covers all the content offered through the usual group class as well as tips and strategies for the official tests. Mock test results provide a solid study guide. Applerouth tutors are available to assist self-directed students with any questions during the course. One mock test is included in the self-directed class. We have 11 licenses available and access has been extended through 8/31/21. Register at PTSA's MemberHub Store.

 

ACT News! ACT Superscoring is Now Available! ACT will now provide an automatically calculated ACT Superscore to all students who have taken the ACT more than once from September 2016 to current day. Log in to MyACT to view and send scores.
