Annandale Community Insider - May 23

s

Annandale Community:

This past Friday marked the final day of school for the Class of 2021 and we are excited to celebrate the senior class’ accomplishments in creative ways this upcoming week! See the Senior Portal or the school website for details of all of this week’s events.

On Monday from 12-2pm (A-L) or 2-4pm (M-Z), seniors will turn in their laptop, pay all obligations and pick up their cap and gown. In addition, students will have the opportunity to print paper copies of their tickets at the cap and gown distribution. Students are now eligible for up to six (6) tickets. Students should park or be dropped off in the back parking lot and enter the doors near the cafeteria. Masks are still required when entering any FCPS building.

Graduation rehearsal will be on Tuesday from 10-12 (A-L) and 12-2pm (M-Z).

Beginning on Wednesday through Friday, seniors will have the opportunity to take pictures with their families in front of the school in their cap and gown prior to graduation! Seniors must sign up for a 20 minute time slot here. This is a special opportunity for those students and parents who may not be comfortable or able to attend the graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 1.

On Wednesday evening from 6-11pm, we are partnering with the PTSA to host a Senior Celebration on AHS the campus! This part prom, part all night grad party event will be an amazing way to celebrate this graduating class. Students must register for the event using this link. Parents/guardians we need your help to make this event a success. Sign up here to work the event.

Finally, as I mentioned earlier this week, I am excited that we are able to support our community by hosting a student vaccination clinic this Thursday. This event will help remove barriers to vaccination for our students. Check out this WDVM News story on Annandale High School being featured as one of the student vaccination clinics.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Awesome Atoms!

Annandale Pyramid Art Show: Every Year art students from the Annandale Pyramid schools gather to exhibit their work. Families and friends visit the gallery (usually Clausen Hall) to congratulate the students and show their pride. This year with everything being so different, we could not exhibit in a gallery setting, so we are showcasing the work of our students through a Google Sites show. Despite the hardships students faced by not being in class, the show is still as amazing as it would have been in Clausen Hall. Congratulations Artists!
