Fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Casey, received the PTA’s Miss Mac Award for outstanding teaching and building classroom community. Mrs. Casey was presented with the award at the May 20th PTA meeting and will receive a $500 gift from the PTA for her commitment to her students and our school. Congratulations to Mrs. Casey, and to all of the fabulous Clermont staff members who were nominated; Mrs. Acosta, Ms. Bakke, Mrs. Buckingham, Mr. Ramirez, Mrs. Reed, Ms. Crouse, Mrs. Remaili, and Mrs. Evans.
Clermont’s Odyssey of the Mind team captured third place in their division in the VOICES Virtual State Tournament! The students on the Clermont team were Erin Dahl, Katherine Lucio, Edwina Post, Lilah Tompkins, and Reese Reisman. Congrats to these students for this outstanding accomplishment!
The Clermont Quilts have been installed in the showcases at Clermont. Thank you again to the PTA, and all of the student artists for their contributions!
FCPS has advertised that Tuesday, June 8, will be a 100% virtual day for all students so that schools may be used for voting purposes. Clermont’s virtual 6th grade promotion will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 8. 6th grade families will receive the link to join from your child’s homeroom teacher as we get closer to June 8.
2020-2021 Yearbooks have arrived! For those attending in-person classes, your yearbook has been sent home already with your child. If you are a virtual student and you ordered a yearbook, please come by the office Monday, May 24th between 9AM-3PM to pick up yours! If you are not available during that time, please feel free to stop by any other school day between 10AM-2:30PM. Unfortunately we do not have any additional yearbooks for sale this year, so we are unable to accommodate late orders.
As a reminder, schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 31, for the Memorial Day holiday. Students are not expected to complete asynchronous assignments that day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, June 1. See the complete 2020-21 school year calendar.
Tuesday, June 8, is the Democratic Primary Election. Because the Fairfax County Electoral Board and City of Fairfax Electoral Board will be using 165 school facilities as polling locations, June 8 will be a virtual synchronous learning day (no in-person classes) for students. All Clermont students will log into classes from home by 9:00 am.
Get more information about the primary elections.
Clermont is sponsoring a food drive to benefit Koinonia, an organization which distributes food and other items to families in our community.
