 General Information
School-Issued Laptop Return
All students need to return their school-issued laptops this year to receive some important updates. We need all computers, cords, and bags to be returned, regardless of the condition. Before returning your computer and bag, please make sure you have all personal items like USBs removed before returning and nothing remaining in the bag. Students should see grade level google classrooms for more information on backing up your files and dates and times for return. We have several opportunities in the coming weeks for students who do not use their FCPSOn device for classes. We will also have opportunities on the last day for seniors and the last day for underclassmen.
Returning OHS Library Materials
Returning OHS Library books is easier than ever! If you have books from this year or previous years (or even from other schools), you can return them to a variety of locations inside AND outside of the building. Students attending school in-person can stop by the library and use the drop slot inside the library or the book return drop in the wall to the left of the library entrance. Anyone can return books at any time on any day of the week using the OHS Library Book Return outside of the school, just to the left of the main entrance. Simply lift the lid and place your books inside! All books checked out from the OHS Library are due back by May 28. Thank you for your help returning your library books!
Face Mask Requirement
Despite the recent change in guidelines from the CDC, Fairfax County Public Schools is still requiring that face masks are worn by all students, staff, visitors, and spectators while on campus and at sporting events. Please make sure you have one with you when entering our building/facilities.
Important Updates
On Thursday May 6, several important pieces of information were included in a community message. This includes: the end-of-year calendar, end-of-year grading updates, new vaccine requirements for the 2021-22 SY, and instructional plans for the 2021-22 SY. If you missed that email or would like to revisit that information it can be found on our website under announcements.

SOL Testing
Last week we finished with the vast majority of our SOL testing! We will continue to test students who needed a make-up testing window. Thank you to our assessment coach, Molly Brady for managing all of our SOL testing and so much more!
Class of 2021 Information
Senior Survey
All seniors have been invited to complete our annual senior survey through Naviance. This survey allows us to send final transcripts out for all students to the appropriate college or university. Please make sure your student takes the time to fill it out so there is no delay in their transcripts. If you have questions, please reach out to your child's counselor.
Prom
We loved seeing our seniors for our Starry Night prom. Thank you to the Leadership sponsors and classes for transforming our building so beautifully. It was great to see the Class of 2021 dressed to impress and enjoying themselves dancing under the stars in the courtyard!
Senior Letter
Last week, we sent a detailed senior letter to all families with more information on end of year events. The senior end-of-year calendar is also available here. We also wanted to clarify that graduation rehearsals are mandatory and they will be held at Oakton High School.
Graduation: June 9, 2021 (Jiffy Lube Live)
Later this week, we will send you an updated brochure with all the information you need to know for graduation. We are excited to announce that all families will receive 4 tickets per graduate! The location and seating arrangements for guests will be finalized closer to the graduation date. We will continue to work with Jiffy Lube Live and the Prince William Health Department on Governor Northam’s executive order which includes capacity restrictions and social distancing requirements for both graduates and guests. The event will also be livestreamed for additional family and friends. All of that information and more will be in the brochure.

 Renovation Update
We hit a little delay with our Performing Arts Wing. The final inspections should happen this week. That will allow us to begin the move of our belongings into the new spaces.
This week we will turn over the Main Gym for renovation so that it will be ready in time for school to open in the fall! This renovation will include a full remodeling of our gym and expanding it. The expansion will allow for bleachers to be installed on all four sides of our gym. The summer renovation plans also include a turnover of our new PE locker rooms.
Please visit our website for more information on the scope of the renovation and the renderings of what the building will look like when completed.
