thank you

We want to thank you for making our staff feel so appreciated last week--like you always do! A huge special thank you to our PTA for providing such thoughtful gifts of appreciation!

As we are currently in the midst of SOLs, Mr. Montaquila and I also want to thank our families, in grades 3-6, who are supporting their children with going to bed early, eating a good breakfast, and encouraging their child to do their very best, whether in-person or online. These assessments test skill and content knowledge as much as they do stamina! While we take these tests seriously, we also know that they are just one metric used to measure student progress. Thank you teachers and students for being so prepared!

Sincerely,

Mr. Carmichael, Principal

Mr. Montaquila, Assistant Principal

Kindergarten Orientation

Please click on this link where you will be directed to our Kindergarten website location.  We have created this page to review and look back on at your leisure.  We know that all families are very busy and there is no perfect time for all families to view at the same time.  Here you will meet our current Kindergarten team as well as some of the specialists in the building.  There are also videos of what the Kindergarten day looks like as well as an opportunity to ask general questions.  We will use these questions and answer them, to the best of our ability, as an FAQ page for all families.  We are so excited to welcome our newest Vikings in the August.

No School

Monday, May 31st is Memorial Day.  There is no school and the building is closed.

Virtual Instruction 2021-22 School Year

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is excited to welcome all students and staff back to our buildings this fall for five days of in-person learning! We encourage all students to return to in-person learning; however, if there is a documented health or medical need then students can apply for a virtual option for next school year.  If your student is currently attending virtually, you will receive a communication from FCPS explaining the approval process and documentation needed to apply to the FCPS Virtual School option. The virtual school option will be limited and is intended to support students for health or medical reasons. The deadline to submit your application is May 21st.

Any student who is approved for virtual learning next year will take classes from the FCPS virtual program. They will be in classes with students from all over FCPS and their courses will be taught by FCPS teachers other than Vienna teachers.
