A HUGE thank you to the treats, cards, flowers, poems, gifts, notes, chalk art, and lunch for Staff Appreciation Week! The PTA went above and beyond to ensure all our staff felt loved and appreciated. While the gifts and food were amazing, please remember the handmade cards and drawings are often kept for years and are incredibly special to our staff.
Last call for portrait photos of lions that did not have their professional photo taken by Lifetouch! Please complete this link ASAP so that your child's portrait is featured in our school Memory Book!
If you haven’t yet, please share information about your child or preferences for next year using this google form. If a neighbor has moved in recently, be sure they have registered their child(ren) for school next year so we are properly staffed for the fall. Please pass this link to any family with a new student OR a child ready for Kindergarten!
This week FCPS shared plans for the fall. We are excited to have all staff and students return in the fall to five days of in-person instruction! Our schools are safe. Our in-school transmission rates remain less than 1%, even as we have reduced social distancing to three feet in our schools. We do realize that some students may have a documented health or medical need for virtual instruction. Enrollment in FCPS’ Virtual Program for the 2021-22 school year will be VERY limited. Eligibility will be based on a health/medical certification of need completed by a licensed physician, nurse practitioner, psychiatrist, or a licensed clinical psychologist. Families will need to apply. Enrollment will be based on the health needs of the student only and not on the health of their family members. All currently enrolled virtual families should have received communication about next year and the steps to take this month.
Congratulations to our Lemon Road Students who have artwork displayed in this year's Virtual Marshall Pyramid Show 2020-2021. Check out their work here.
An important safety reminder! Parents of walkers before or after school must walk their children to the sidewalk. No student, regardless of age, is permitted to walk between buses or across the parking lot independently at arrival or dismissal. Not only do we care about your children, but we are happy to see you and say hi as well.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone and a special Mother's Day to all those celebrating ~ Mrs. Castillo
Next week we will be focusing on the Other People Mindset. This mindset consists of the five elements intended to help people understand ways to build positive relationships in their own lives: identifying and appreciating the good in others, knowing my words and actions affect others, supporting others when they struggle, cheering others’ successes, and being present and giving others my attention.
