The MHS PTSA Needs You!
Please Volunteer!

This school year was unprecedented, yet we found ways to help our students and families stay connected virtually and we made improvements that benefited our Highlander community. We thank our PTSA parent volunteers for their accomplishments this year. As the class of 2021 graduates, we will be saying goodbye to some of the senior parent volunteers.

We are currently filling positions for the upcoming school year (2021-22). We desperately need parents to step in, and continue the awesome work that the PTSA has done; it’s a meaningful way to stay engaged with the school!

Remember, MHS PTSA is a volunteer-run organization and it cannot continue without your help. Please consider joining the PTSA Board for the upcoming school year!

You can find volunteer positions here. Submit your interest to the nominating committee at nominate@mcleanptsa.org.

Prom Volunteers

Volunteer as a Prom Chaperone

Our juniors and seniors are going to have a prom this  Saturday, May 15th, on school grounds.

After more than a year of pandemic restrictions, our Highlanders deserve a fun night of laughs and dancing.  Parents helpers are needed to make this night a success!

Please email Elizabeth Hale if you can help with decorations and planning, Halefamilyva@gmail.com.

Please also sign up to chaperone during one of three shifts using this link.

The MHS PTSA Needs You...

To Volunteer for the
Class of 2021 Graduation Celebration, Pandemic Style!

The MHS PTSA is planning to host a Graduation Celebration Carnival for our fabulous senior Class of 2021! We hope to host the party on the evening of Wednesday, June 2nd, if we can find enough volunteers to pull it together!

  • We need Parent Volunteers to help us plan activities to make this special event happen.
  • We will also need Parent Volunteers on the day of the event to help set up, clean up, and chaperone.

In past years parents of non-seniors (Junior Parents especially) help out to "pay it forward."  We cannot host this event without our community and volunteers!  Let's make this unprecedented year end on a high note for our McAwesome Seniors!!

If you are able to help, please contact Mara Conners and Monika Sibert at  GraduationParty@mcleanptsa.org TODAY!

Thank you in advance for helping make the event a success!

Cheers to the Class of 2021!

Important Immunization Requirement for Your Student Entering Twelfth Grade This Fall

Your 12th Grade Student will need the following immunization:

  • One dose of Meningococcal Vaccine (MenACWY, Menactra, or Menveo) given at age 16 or older.

Effective July 1, 2021, these immunizations are required for all students entering twelfth grade, including those who choose all-virtual instruction. Parents or guardians should ask their private healthcare provider, or the health department, to review their student's immunization record to ensure that their student has received these required immunizations.

Twelfth grade students cannot begin school in August without documentation of the Meningococcal vaccine.

Documentation must be provided to the student information assistant (SIA) or registrar at the school your student is currently attending or will be attending in the fall as soon as possible.

For more information and to review a list of acceptable documentation, visit this link.
