Dear Family Fairfax,

Happy Friday--and the end of April.  In the blink of an eye, it will be May and then June, and we will be celebrating the end of an unusual school year.  The good news is that planning for graduation is full-speed ahead, and we are expecting one event with approximately 4 tickets.  Details are firming up, but we are sending a senior email very soon.

With the good fortune to hold graduation at Fairfax, we will have asynchronous learning on June 1st, so staff members can also support commencement.  If the rain date of June 2nd needs to be used, that date will need to be asynchronous as well, but I will not know until just before.  Please stay tuned.

Also, part of our hosting our graduation at Fairfax also means that we are an FCPS central graduation site.  We will welcome the graduations of Falls Church and Justice High School as well.  I will have some tentative changes to our schedule (mainly that we will be virtual all synchronous for those graduations), and I will have dates and specifics to share very soon.  We are thrilled to support other schools in celebrating their seniors and provide a location for them to be celebrated.

Another celebration--next week is Teacher Appreciation Week!  A shout out to our PTSA, SGA, and the City of Fairfax who have organized a number of treats and events.  If you have the opportunity, please drop a note to your student’s teachers next week (Tuesday is the actual day!), and let them know how much we appreciate them for all their hard work.

Next week, I am hosting the usual monthly, Parent Coffee on Friday at 8AM and an additional Senior Parent Coffee at 10AM.  I will most definitely be heavily caffeinated by afternoon!  Sign ups are below.

Have a wonderful weekend, Fairfax!

Yearbook Updates & Reminders

The main yearbook is being printed and assembled right now, but the staff is working hard on a supplement designed to capture some of the Spring events at school. Seniors, did you decorate a Senior Crown? Submit your info and photos: http://forms.gle/JnNz3tu4UHAqeMhn6

We still have many portrait proofs for students in grades 9-11 that haven’t been picked up. You don't need to get them, but it’s easier for you to order photos from Lifetouch if you have it. You can get those from security any time that the main office is open.

2021 yearbooks are still on sale and can be ordered on the website: www.yearbookordercenter.com school code 5671

We anticipate being able to distribute yearbooks during the last week of May.

Any questions can be directed to Ms. Cutter (djcutter@fcps.edu

Thanks for helping us tell your stories!

Pre-Sale Online Ticketing for Spring Sports

This spring will be our very first season of using a brand new interface for purchasing tickets for Fairfax HS sporting events (Lacrosse, Soccer and Track) at Harold Stalnaker Stadium, called ETix. ETix will allow our fans to purchase tickets online, prior to any game or meet hosted in the FHS Stadium. To purchase tickets in advance, use this link (or the QR code below) to select the event for which you want tickets, then use your credit card information to purchase the number of tickets you want. You will receive a confirmation email for your purchase, and you will pull up that email on your phone to present to the ticket booth, scanning your ticket. This same procedure will also be used for those who wish to make credit card purchases for tickets at the gate on the day of the event.

We are excited about this opportunity of using this new eTix system, but you still have the option of using cash.

If you have any questions about these procedures, please contact Cathy Horacek at cshoracek@fcps.edu.
