Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
Next week, May 3-7 is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week! We are so thankful for the outrageous love, curiosity and skill the LTES teachers and staff bring to our Lions every day. Their efforts make London Towne a great place to learn and work!
Please join us in celebrating the absolutely amazing, creative, and caring educators (teachers, specialist, instructional assistants, etc.) who inspire our students each day.
Breakfast Reminders
Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. Drop your child off in the front bus loop and they can head right into breakfast. If your child is not eating breakfast, please do not drop them off until 8:45 a.m.
The bus loop is open to drop off breakfast traffic from 8:30-8:40 a.m. but will close at 8:40 to allow for our buses and day care vans to safely drop off students.
Walker and Kiss and Ride students arriving after 8:40 a.m. will enter at either Door 3 or Door 6 and pick up their breakfast in the cafeteria before heading to class to eat. Bus Riders will enter at Door 1 and will also pick up breakfast before heading to class.
Several students asked what was on the menu, click here to view the LTES breakfast and lunch menus. Thank you.
Standard of Learning (SOL) Information
The SOL assessments will start the week of May 10th. All virtual students will test on Mondays and in-person students will test on Wednesdays and Fridays. Be on the lookout for specific information for students in grades 3-6 early next week. Please contact Ms. Moore or Ms. Vigil if you have questions.
Calendar Updates:
June 8 – No In-Person School in FCPS
Tuesday, June 8 is Election Day, and 165 schools in FCPS will be polling locations (including LTES). For this reason, there will be no in-person class on that day. All classes will be virtual and follow their regular schedule.
Return to School Plans for 2021-22
FCPS believes that in-person instruction is the best model for our students and we are planning for five days of in-person instruction as the primary mode of learning for all FCPS students during the 2021-22 school year. Our data throughout the pandemic has shown that students do best socially, emotionally, and academically with in-person learning, while our recent return to school survey found that the largest percentage of students who report satisfaction were experiencing all face-to-face instruction, with 91% of families and 88% of staff saying they were satisfied with in-person instruction.
Virtual learning options will be available but will likely to be limited to those who need to remain virtual due to health reasons. FCPS will share more details on our plans for virtual learning at the May 3 work session.
