The month of April is a time dedicated to Autism Awareness. During the week of April 27 - 30, we will be celebrating Autism Awareness! Autism is a complex, lifelong developmental condition that typically appears during early childhood and can impact a person’s relationships, self-regulation, communication, and social skills. We celebrate Autism Awareness Week to spread awareness about and show our acceptance of autism. We will be celebrating with different spirit days, but also engaging in important learning opportunities via informative morning news segments and lessons.
Class Placements for 2021-2022
Every year, our staff collaborates regarding student placements for the next school year. A variety of factors such as student personalities, friendships, and academic abilities are considered as we create our new classes. Other factors impacting the decision-making process of student class assignments are new student enrollments and teachers moving to a new assignment.
Churchill Road families may assist in this process by sharing insights. Please note the following when providing information. We do not accept requests for specific teachers for the upcoming grade placement. This includes hints that reference specific teachers. We cannot guarantee friend requests nor exceptions for other students whereby there may be a conflict. We do our best to create a positive learning year for your child.
Please provide your input by submitting this form as it will ensure we have your request. Please do not email us additional information. Completion of the form is optional: however, the deadline for any correspondence is May 10, 2021. Thank you for your input.
Kindergarten Orientation Monday, April 26
Parents of 2021-2022 rising kindergarteners are invited to attend a virtual Kindergarten Orientation Meeting on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. to learn more about kindergarten. Parents who have already contacted our registrar with information about their kindergarten child will receive a link for the meeting on the day of. If you have not already contacted CRS registrar, Mrs. Spencer Redding, cbspencerred@fcps.edu, and would like to attend, please do so before 2 PM on April 26, so that you can receive the meeting link.
Registrations for the 2021-2022 school year are already being accepted, and we encourage parents to contact the school to register their kindergartener as early as possible.
Substitute for FCPS
Are you currently an eligible substitute in FCPS? Have you ever thought about becoming a substitute teacher or substitute Instructional Assistant? Please check out the information posted on our FCPS website to learn more about this opportunity. As we look forward to next year, we would love to have individuals with a caring heart for children with a desire to help them grow, all while supporting our wonderful Churchill Road staff.

 PTA Yearbook Photo Submission
For those students who did not attend a picture day you may send a digital picture. If you choose to send a picture, please email it to crsyearbook@churchillroadpta.org with the subject YEARBOOK PICTURE SUBMISSION. You must include the student's name and teacher or it will not be included in the yearbook. NOTE - the picture MUST be a headshot against a SOLID background. All headshots must be submitted by 5/7.
