We wanted to thank everyone who participated in last night's PTA meeting and we also want to thank our guest speaker Ann Dolin for her presentation last night.

Our next PTA meeting will be on Wednesday, May TBD, for our last PTA meeting for the year to vote for the 2021-2022 executive Board.
We are excited to announce our executive board for 2021-2022.
We have a fantastic group of nominees who are of diverse backgrounds and volunteer experiences. Together, this group will work to support excellence at Longfellow and engage with our community.
Please come to our last PTA meeting of the year on in May (Exact date to TBD) to vote for the 2021-2022 executive board.

Longfellow’s PTA Teacher Appreciation Committee needs students’ help displaying materials and posters around the school. Come to the main entrance at school on Sunday, May 2, at 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Students can receive service hours.

Teacher Appreciation Week
May 3rd through 7th
The Teacher Appreciation Team has several fun events planned throughout the week, including thanking each teacher with a gift card. Principal Patrick raffles them off throughout the week. The students love it when their teachers' name is called over the loudspeaker to come to get their gift card.
We need your help now to collect enough gift cards for the 140 teachers, staff, and bus drivers at LMS. Please sign up here to donate a gift card today.
Place gift cards in an envelope marked “For Teacher Appreciation Week” and drop them off or mail to LMS on, or before Monday, April 26.

We will be hosting our second annual ‘Virtual Career Expo’ this May. Presenters will submit a pre-recorded video, so don’t worry about traffic or conflicts with dates! If you would like to present (and we hope you do!), please click here to complete the Longfellow Career Expo Presenter form.
Participants will receive an email confirmation and detailed information about the Career Expo within one week of submitting the registration form. Registration ends on Monday, April 26, 2021. If you have any questions, please email Shannon Lopynski.

The Virginia Mathematics Pathways Initiative (VMPI) is a joint initiative among the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
The Initiative supports the Profile of a Virginia Graduate by redefining mathematics pathways for students in the Commonwealth to address the knowledge, skills, experiences, and attributes that students must attain to be successful in college and/or the workforce and to be “life ready.”
A series of one-hour VMPI Community Informational Sessions will be held during the next several months to provide parents and community members an opportunity to learn more about the Virginia Mathematics Pathways Initiative. The sessions will take place on the following dates
