Dear Bulldog Family--
I hope that you are all doing well and that you had an amazing weekend! I apologize that this message did not come out last night as it usually does; I was experiencing some technological issues that I couldn’t work through.
As you will see with our information item below, we are already taking a look at how we can safely and seamlessly transition our end of year processes. We are working to make sure that we can do this in a way that respects everybody’s comfort level while also ensuring everything that needs to happen, can take place.
Also, Dr. Brabrand will be meeting with the School Board tomorrow night to deliver his plan for Return to School next year. As many of you may already know, the Governor has issued a state mandate that schools offer 5 days of in-person instruction next year. Effective July 1, 2021, this becomes law. I encourage those who have questions about this to tune into the meeting tomorrow evening. You can do this online here: https://www.fcps.edu/school-board/school-board-meetings.

Early Return of FCPS Laptops
This summer FCPS will be collecting all laptops that have been issued to students. Collection of laptops allows us to update the software and make any repairs before reissuing to students in the fall.
If your student is currently using a personal laptop and not scheduled to take an SOL this spring, they may return their laptop early and avoid the lines at the end of the year.
- Remove all stickers and decorations
- Wrap the cord neatly. Your cord should be a Dell branded cord. If you need to pay for a lost cord, you can do so in MySchoolBucks. The cost is $23.
- Park in the back of the school, walk down the sidewalk by the tennis court and ring the doorbell by the orange cone!
- Return your laptop and cord to a member of the tech team (you’ll be emailed a receipt)
Laptop Early Return Office Hours
- Mondays 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
- Tuesday 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
If your student is using their school computer for classes OR will be taking an SOL this year please DO NOT return the laptop yet! More opportunities will be available in June for laptop return.
