News and Announcements

BAnner

Greetings Majors,

I’d like to thank all the families who joined us for “Lunch with Principal Rogers”.  During that meeting we shared updates about the MVHS Return to School plan and announced that we will bring all in-person students back into the building four days a week beginning April 27, 2021.  Notices have been sent to families with a form collecting information about your intent.  If you haven’t already done so, please complete the form here.  We also explained the new grading options and shared data from the 2019-2020 Mount Vernon Pyramid Youth Survey.  If you were not able to join us, you can review the recording here.

Thank you all for your support!

Principal Rogers

Ramadan

Ramadan is April 13-May 13.  We will have an alternative lunch location for students observing Ramadan who would prefer to not be in the cafeteria during lunch.  Please have your student speak with an adult in the cafeteria about accessing the alternative location.

We have a room with a sink available in Subschool 2 for female students and staff who would like a safe and quiet place to pray during the day.  Mrs. Sabbahi in Subschool 2 will unlock the door for anyone wishing to use that room.

Autism Awareness Month

Autism Awareness

Students with autism want and deserve acceptance so that they too have the chance to grow up in a world that's understanding and kind, and so that they too can have gainful employment with fair pay, affordable health care, and the opportunity to live a full and beautiful life. At MVHS we embrace all of our diversity and recognize that it is our diversity that makes us such a strong community and a great place to learn. Please join us in celebrating our diversity  with a fun spirit week dedicated to our amazing students with Autism.
