Churchill Road Playground Dedication

playground

The playground dedication ceremony was enjoyed by all.

Our playground dedication ceremony was a great success. Current PTA President Christie Buschmann presided over the festivities.  The guests of honor included Region 1 Superintendent Douglas Tyson, Dranesville District School Board Member Elaine Tholen, and retired principal, Don Hutzel.  Winston even made a guest appearance, cheering on the students as they had the opportunity to test out the new playground!

Summer E-IFTA and IFTA Enrichment Program Registration Information

Registration begins April 19, at 8 a.m.  All students are eligible for these opportunities. Elementary Institute for the Arts (for rising 3rd through 6th graders) and Institute for the Arts (for rising 7th through 12th graders) will both be held July 6-30 at Robinson Secondary from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students take part in classes every day related to dance, music, theater, and visual art. Both programs have fees, with waivers for students eligible for free and reduced meals. For more information or to register, visit the Summer Learning webpage

2021-2022 School Year Calendar

Does the new FCPS school calendar mean that students get more days off? The 2021-22 standard school year calendar was developed to respect, accept, and honor the plurality of religious and cultural observances in Fairfax County. It includes 15 Religious and Cultural Observance Days based on major religions where staff and/or student absences were above average at least once over the past five years. The 15 observance dates are not Student Holidays but staff are not permitted to schedule graded assignments, tests or quizzes on those dates so that students who do observe those days do not have to choose between school work and participating in a religious or cultural observance day.
