Spirit Week April 19-23

Month of the Military Child Spirit Week Activities

As many of you know, April is the month of the military child where we have the opportunity to recognize the children of our service members and veterans.

Here are some ways that you and your student(s) can get involved at WSHS:

  1. If you are military connected, complete the google form and sign-up to receive a special gift on Purple Up Day, Wednesday April 21st. For students who are in the building on that day, we will be available during lunch to hand out your gift. For students who are not in the building, we will have an optional drive thru event after school from 3:30pm-4:30pm where you can pick up your gift. More information will be provided to you after confirmation of RSVP. Please RSVP by Monday, April 19th
  2. Celebrate our military themed spirit week on April 19th-23rd by dressing in your favorite branch gear/camouflage on Monday, showing off a unique aspect of your culture or a place you have lived on Tuesday, wearing purple to support our military connected students on Wednesday, dressing up as different generations on Thursday or wearing red, white, blue on Friday. Make sure you add your pictures on social media and tag Student Services@WSHS_Counselors.
  3. Submit creative works digitally to Ms. Greene Herbert(kfgreeneherb@fcps.edu) or drop it off to Ms. Greene-Herbert in Student Services using a standard 8 ½ by 11 sheet of paper. All works will be printed out and placed in the display case by door 3 (math hallway). Items will be displayed for the month of April.

Feel free to contact Mrs. Singleton at (571) 599-0639 or Ms. Greene-Herbert if you have any questions or need more information.

On Line Sports Registration - New!

The county has moved to an online Registration process for all sports. Parents are now able to register their children of multiple sports and complete most of the paperwork online, including the concussion education.

This registration must be completed by all athletes regardless if they have already turned in paperwork this year. Just completing the registration does not make them eligible, it is a step in the process.

A copy of the physical will still need to be turned in to the Athletic Trainers and must be cleared by us before the athlete is allowed to participate. Physicals can be scanned and emailed to Chris Worrell (cworrell@fcps.edu) and is the preferred way or mailed to Chris Worrell, West Springfield HS, 6100 Rolling Road, Springfield 22152.

The links below are to the registration and help guides and videos if parents are having issues.

Please contact the activities office if there are any questions or issues.
